All right, enough joking around. As the title suggests, Second Playthrough has been featured in Sanjiang. The big names may be used to it, but as a newbie, I'm still pretty excited. 💝✌
The book's performance has been a little better than I imagined—actually, much better than I expected. It managed to stand out in such a competitive light novel category and even claimed first place on the new books chart. I'm very grateful for the support of the longtime readers who came over from Cannon Fodder in the early days. Without you, the book might have been doomed from the start. (Sad.)
Now, a little about Second Playthrough. I learned from my last book, Cannon Fodder, and didn't make the world too sprawling right away. I've only set up five heroines and five countries, and I expect each heroine and her corresponding country to get about 150,000 to 200,000 words.
The general direction of this book is pretty much summed up by the title: the protagonist gets to experience the "love" of those paper-doll characters who were previously neglected by the players!
I've given each of the five heroines a distinct role and personality. I'd like to think they'll cover about eighty percent of the average person's tastes! So there's plenty to look forward to later.
The Saintess and Zero have already been introduced. As for the other three, I've hinted at the personalities of two of them—the Dragon Girl and the Succubus. I wonder if anyone noticed. As for the last one, the Elf, allow me to keep her under wraps for now.
I'd also like to emphasize one thing: a love triangle isn't the main plot of this book! Getting hit with a cleaver is the main plot, come on!!
And don't worry, the cleavers will come in all sorts of creative varieties. I'll never let you get tired of them, and I'll satisfy all your cleaver-related wishes!
Lastly, the male lead won't be oblivious! And he won't be a paragon of chastity!
He'll also be an expert at escaping with a sliver of health and turning the tables at death's door!
Countering the cleavers—and doing it beautifully, elegantly, and decisively—is what he'll do to the girls trying to cleave him. Then he'll get to see their defeat CGs. That's the biggest source of satisfaction I've planned for this book (in my opinion).
The book will go on sale next Friday. I'll do my best to stockpile chapters, but I write pretty slowly, so there will be a release-day chapter dump, though I can't promise how many. I can only say I'll do my best!
One more thing: the fan group. I thought it over, and since the book is still free to read, I won't set any requirements for now. After it goes on sale, I'll change it back to one fan point. I checked the backend and saw that quite a few people had tipped one yuan (100 Qidian coins) just to get that one fan point. It makes me feel like I'm doing something shady.
