This guy.
If nothing unexpected happened, he had to be the one who gave the other man his first Embrace.
Otherwise, there was no way Pitchfork could have become a Vampire.
In fact, just a few hours ago,
this guy had still been someone he whipped.
And now he had suddenly become a Vampire.
That definitely had something to do with this fellow who had appeared out of nowhere.
Although Pitchfork's fangs did not look particularly formidable,
that meant he might merely be a fledgling who had not even awakened.
But that did not change the fact that he was a Long-lived Species.
Simply put, even if he could never awaken in his entire life and become a true Vampire,
he could still live peacefully for hundreds of years.
And if he was luckier,
encountered some great opportunity, and awakened to the lowest Baron rank,
he would instantly become an immortal being.
After all, the High Priest had seen those Vampire eggs before.
He knew that after being killed, those creatures would turn into that form.
After a certain amount of time, they could be resurrected again.
Although the resurrection process in between was rather long and boring,
who could resist the allure of immortality?
Thud!
The High Priest knelt down.
He did so with startling decisiveness.
Without the slightest hesitation.
The oxen and horses in the room were dumbfounded.
Lord High Priest!
The former knight lord!
He had actually knelt just like that!
And so readily, too!
This was a scene they would not have dared dream of in their entire lives.
"I-I-I'll join you! My lord, I'll join you!"
While everyone was still shocked by the High Priest's kneeling, he was the first to speak.
Begging for mercy!?
The once lofty High Priest was actually begging for mercy!?
