Background / History

Tang Ya was born with a Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul that possessed an innate devouring talent. Her kind nature prevented this power from fully awakening, despite its potential to make her a natural-born Evil Spirit Master. After the Tang Sect was destroyed and her parents were killed, she sought aid from its former allies, including Shrek Academy, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, the Clear Sky Sect, and the Heaven Dou Empire, but was rejected and mocked. She survived by crafting and selling low-level hidden weapons. 6 91

While cultivating alone in Shrek City, Tang Ya received access to the Harem Family Chat Group. Initially using the name “Soul Guidance Devices are Evil,” she blamed Soul Guidance Devices for the Tang Sect’s decline and argued fiercely with Meng Hongchen. 1

Chu Mo’s revelations forced her to confront the fact that Tang San’s success had depended on exceptional bloodline, Twin Martial Souls, immortal herbs, and a complete inheritance rather than ordinary Blue Silver Grass alone. Learning this shattered her faith in the Tang Sect’s founding narrative and left her uncertain whether she should embrace her devouring talent. 3 6

Chu Mo persuaded Tang Ya to use her power only against those who harmed others rather than becoming an Evil Spirit Master. She accepted this path, resolved to avenge her parents, and gradually came to regard Chu Mo as her closest support. 6 37

Appearance

Tang Ya is a youthful woman with a curvaceous figure, a delicate oval face, and striking phoenix eyes. She commonly wears a blue-and-white training outfit or the Tang Sect uniform, and keeps her long hair in a high ponytail. 1 12

  • Long high ponytail draped down her back. 1
  • Phoenix eyes that shift from grief and resentment to confidence and resolve. 1 6
  • Blue Silver Grass marked by black-red veins; later, its branches and leaves become blood-red. 6 50
  • When controlling the Demon Puppet, she is surrounded by purple-black Devilish Qi. 34

Personality

Tang Ya is emotionally intense, stubborn, and deeply affected by the destruction of her family and sect. Her early fixation on restoring the Tang Sect and avenging her parents comes from years of isolation, rejection, and powerlessness. 1 6 91

Despite her devouring Martial Soul, she consciously refuses to harm innocents. She is protective of her friends and allies, readily standing up for Chu Mo and later escorting Huo Yu'er to the Sun Moon Empire. 6 15 172

Her mercy does not extend to those she considers responsible for cruelty or humiliation. Against Tie Li and Xu Sanshi, Tang Ya displays calculated ruthlessness, using torture as retribution and as a warning to threats against her sect. 37 140 141
