Background / History

Tang San originated from another world. According to material viewed by Meng Hongchen, he stole the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record from his original sect, jumped from a cliff after being discovered, and arrived in the Douluo World. 118

His rise was attributed to unusually exceptional foundations: Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, the Clear Sky Hammer, Twin Martial Souls, an external spirit bone with devouring ability, Immortal Herbs, the Mysterious Heaven Skill, and hidden weapons. 3 4 The complete Mysterious Heaven Skill could raise Innate Soul Power, and his Purple Demon Eye and Mysterious Jade Hand repeatedly provided decisive combat advantages. 90 130

After establishing the Tang Sect, Tang San allegedly left its inheritance incomplete. The complete Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record later revealed missing Medicine and Poison chapters, while Chu Mo asserted that Tang San withheld stronger techniques and complete hidden-weapon knowledge so later Tang Sect members could not surpass him. 90

As a god, Tang San placed a remnant divine soul at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, guarded the location with restrictions, and intended it to remain under his control. 88 124 248 The remnant soul was destroyed by Wang Dong'er after Tang Ya intervened with a second Immortal-Slaughtering Sword. 89

Following the disappearance of Wang Dong'er, Huo Yu'er, and his lower-realm divine soul, Tang San ordered Daming and Erming to investigate Shrek Academy and bring Wang Dong'er to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. 170 He later sought to accelerate his broader plans, suspected the Douluo Plane Consciousness of resisting him, and considered eliminating disloyal subordinates. 248

When several members of Wenxin Sect ascended beyond level 100, Tang San urged the God Realm to attack them, claiming they endangered the Douluo Plane. He also invoked Tang Wutong's safety to pressure the God King of Destruction. 270 Chu Mo subsequently trapped Tang San and four other God Kings inside his Small World, where Wang Dong'er killed Tang San with the Immortal-Slaughtering Sword. 272 274

Personality

Tang San is calculating and strongly possessive of resources, people, and plans under his control. His remnant soul regarded the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well as exclusively his and intended to kill intruders. 88 He also treated Daming and Erming as expendable instruments, scrutinizing them for disloyalty and later leaving a retaliatory backdoor in Daming's mark. 170 274

He presents himself as humble and righteous when useful, such as apologizing to the Goddess of Life and framing his lower-realm arrangements as acts for “justice and the greater good.” 170 270 However, his actions repeatedly prioritize control: he concealed Tang Wutong's remnant soul on his person, used her safety to influence Destruction, and reacted with anger when Wang Dong'er exposed his scheme against her. 272 270 273

Tang San is also vindictive. After learning that his parents had died, he immediately killed the god official who delivered the news in a disrespectful manner. 269

Tang San's historical reputation as the Tang Sect's founder shapes Tang Ya's initial belief that ordinary Blue Silver Grass, hard work, and Tang Sect techniques could reproduce his path. Chu Mo's disclosures instead establish that Tang San's rise depended on extraordinary bloodline, martial souls, resources, and incomplete knowledge unavailable to later descendants. 3 6 90

Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Tang San's remnant soul appears when Wang Dong'er and Tang Ya enter the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. It attempts to defend the site, calls Wang Dong'er “Wutong,” and is ultimately killed after Tang Ya creates an opening for Wang Dong'er. 88 89

God Realm Investigation

Tang San becomes increasingly alarmed by Xiao Wu's disappearance, the loss of contact with his divine soul, and the disruption of his arrangements involving Wang Dong'er and Huo Yu'er. He dispatches Daming and Erming while trying to identify the force opposing him. 101 124 170
