Background / History

Sudō entered Advanced Nurturing High School as a Class 1-D student. His poor attendance, classroom behavior, and apparent disinterest in academics contributed to his classmates blaming him when Class D lost its points allocation. He reacted by kicking his desk and storming out. 16

Basketball is central to Sudō's ambitions. He is a sports student whose dream of becoming a basketball player is a major source of pride; Horikita's dismissal of that dream provoked a heated argument during a study session. 24 Later, he was named a regular player for the summer tournament. 39

His near-expulsion motivates him to change. After Class D pooled points to save him, he promises not to cause further trouble, to improve himself, and to repay what the class spent on him. 36

Midterm Exam and Near-Expulsion

Sudō participates in Class D's midterm preparations but fails to memorize the English answers. Although he raises his English score to 39, the class average sets the passing mark at 39.8, resulting in his declared expulsion. 34 35

Shinjo reveals that private points can purchase the missing score. Class D subsequently crowdsources 100,000 points to save Sudō, and he remains enrolled. 36

Assault Allegation

After becoming a basketball-team regular, Sudō is lured to the administration building by Class 1-C students Komiya and Kondō, where Ishizaki joins them. Sudō claims they threatened him and attacked first, forcing him to fight back. 39

Class 1-C accuses Sudō of intentionally assaulting three students, supports its claim with a photograph and medical reports, and seeks his expulsion. Sudō admits to throwing a punch but maintains that he acted in self-defense. 42
