Background / History
Zhuge Linghao was a 24-year-old, single middle-school mathematics teacher from a remote town in his previous life. Dissatisfied with his aimless adulthood and regretful that he had not worked harder as a student, he abruptly awakens in the body of a high-school student. 1
He quickly realizes that he has arrived in the setting of Classroom of the Elite, recognizing students such as Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, Horikita Suzune, Kushida Kikyo, and Koenji Rokusuke. His new life is immediately complicated by the High-Profile Life System, which rewards him with Emotion Points when others react strongly to him and compels him to complete humiliating or dangerous choice missions. 1 4
As a Class D student, Zhuge initially cultivates a disruptive reputation through public stunts, provocations, and reckless bets. His perfect score on a difficult mathematics question reveals his former profession and attracts the attention of high-achieving students from multiple classes. 3 11 12
Appearance
Zhuge is a tall, thin high-school student with short, messy black hair. His slight frame conceals system-enhanced explosive strength. 1 5
- Usually wears the school uniform. 1
- Has a small frame and is described as slightly over 170 centimeters tall. 5
- Possesses visibly defined abdominal muscles despite his otherwise lean build. 5
- Is often perceived as scruffy, weak-looking, or physically unremarkable before displaying unexpected strength. 22 40
Personality
Zhuge is shamelessly high-profile, trollish, and prone to exaggeration. He regularly behaves in absurd ways to provoke emotional reactions, gain Emotion Points, or satisfy System missions. His own internal narration repeatedly admits that much of his confidence is an act supported by the System rather than natural ability. 3 4 10
He is strategic, opportunistic, and willing to deceive opponents. He records evidence, exploits information gaps, manipulates bets, blackmails Ryuen, and uses foreknowledge of events to alter outcomes. However, he is not consistently fearless; he often panics when directly threatened, retreats when outmatched, and relies on bluffing or escape rather than brute force. 15 19 35 36
Despite his crude jokes and manipulative habits, Zhuge repeatedly protects classmates. He mediates Sudo’s conflicts, helps defend Sakura during the disciplinary case, intervenes against harassment, and works to keep Class D cooperative during the uninhabited-island exam. 20 34 38 48
Abilities & Skills
High-Profile Life System
The System grants random identities, skills, experience cards, and option missions. Zhuge earns Emotion Points when people develop strong emotions toward him, whether through admiration, embarrassment, fear, anger, or shock. 3 4 11
- Can obtain temporary identities and experience cards with specialized abilities. 14 15 17
- His personal panel tracks Emotion Points, alignment, attributes, and available skills. 9 24
- System missions are usually triggered by other people provoking or involving him; attempts to deliberately initiate incidents generally fail to activate options. 29
- Failed missions can impose punitive effects, including public humiliation or temporary muteness. 14 34
Hercules Enhancement
Zhuge’s early System reward grants him exceptional physical strength and enhanced reflexes.
- Performs rapid one-handed and clapping push-ups immediately after gaining the ability. 2
- Surprises Ryuen with the force of a kick despite his lean build. 5
- Allows him to endure Karuizawa’s slap without reflexively dodging. 3
- His strength does not make him invincible; Horikita Manabu overwhelms him in a direct encounter. 16
Martial Arts and Physical Techniques
Zhuge is capable of using Wing Chun and other System-assisted combat techniques.
- Fights Ryuen to a standstill long enough to demonstrate his hidden power before withdrawing due to an observer. 5
- Uses Wing Chun against Ishizaki Daichi and two other Class C students. 27
- His recorded assault appears brutal, but Ayanokoji deduces that Zhuge intentionally held back enough to avoid landing the full force of his punches. 34 36
- Demonstrates strong basketball instincts, including steals and no-look passes, during the match against Class C. 26
Persuasion Skills
Zhuge possesses a permanent System skill that increases the chance of others agreeing to his requests by 50%. 14
- Uses the effect to persuade Sudo to cooperate with Class D. 14
- Successfully convinces Sudo to remain in the study group by appealing to his basketball goals. 20
- The effect is not absolute; Ryuen resists Zhuge’s plea for mercy despite briefly appearing inclined to agree. 35
- His panel also lists Triple Slide-Kneel Kowtow, a System-granted ability linked to desperate begging. 9 35
Mathematics
Zhuge retains advanced mathematics knowledge from his previous life as a teacher.
- Scores a perfect 100 on the school’s mathematics quiz, including the difficult final question. 11
- Explains his geometric and algebraic solution to students from Classes A, B, and D. 12
- Tutors Horikita Suzune and Ichinose Honami after drawing their academic interest. 12
- His proficiency is specialized: his scores in other subjects are notably poor compared with his mathematics result. 11
Deception, Acting, and Information Control
Zhuge frequently relies on performance and information asymmetry rather than direct confrontation.
- Uses a Sharp-Tongued Experience Card to verbally overwhelm Ryuen’s group in the library. 15
- Uses an Actor Experience Card to convince Kushida that he has developed a “dark” attachment to her, disrupting her plans to expel him. 19
- Arranges evidence and testimony during the Class C assault case, including footage from a hidden camera. 31 34
- Uses recorded evidence of Ryuen’s misconduct to extort 600,000 points after the disciplinary hearing. 36
Super Fast Escape
A permanent Level 3 System skill acquired after Zhuge exceeds 3,000 Emotion Points. Its exact capabilities have not yet been demonstrated. 39
Equipment / Items
