Her mindset was good, but the shock was just too great.
She had "observed" the entire clash at the level of rules just now. The profound understanding of higher-order rules that Ian displayed, his precise application of them, and the systemized authority represented by the illusory image of the Hell Codex had all far exceeded her initial estimates.
