Background / History

Class C is one of the four first-year classes at Advanced Nurturing High School. The school places classes into ranks A through D according to the gap between students’ strengths and flaws; rankings can change through class points earned in special exams. Private Points can be used as a resource in inter-class competition. 7

Early observations characterize Class C as containing many rude, fight-prone boys and tightly grouped gyaru students. Its initial students are viewed by Class B as direct competitors. 8

By the end of the first month, Ryuen Kakeru has subdued the class’s strongest fighters, including Ishizaki Daichi and Yamada Albert, while academically capable students such as Kaneda Satoru and Shiina Hiyori tacitly accept his leadership. Ibuki Mio remains openly opposed to Ryuen’s violent rule, but lacks the support to replace him. 32

Story Role / Major Arcs

Early First-Year Competition

Class C is identified as a dangerous rival class due to its violent students and Ryuen’s emerging authority. Kanzaki Ryuji’s audit reports that Ryuen’s group attempts to intimidate him and uses violence behind the scenes. 21

Aragaki Shun temporarily transfers Ike Kanji into Class C using a Transfer Ticket, intending both to disrupt the class and expose the destructive potential of the transfer system to the school. 21

Ryuen’s Rule and Decline

Ryuen establishes a more structured “good cop, bad cop” approach after financial pressure from Aragaki, retaining violence as the foundation of his authority while relying on Ishizaki, Albert, Hiyori, and Kaneda in different capacities. 58

During the Uninhabited Island Exam, Ryuen’s attempt to ambush Aragaki fails. Aragaki defeats Ryuen and his group, orders Class C to return Ryuen for medical treatment, names Ibuki as the new leader, and takes the class’s stronghold points as compensation. 117 118

Subordination to Class A

After Shiina transfers to Class A, Class C loses one of its few high-level academic talents. 97

Aragaki later appoints Manabe as a manager while considering broader reforms to strengthen Class A’s control over Class C and Class D. 135 136

Ryuen is ultimately forced to leave Class C after Aragaki manipulates the class rules; he transfers to Class B to regroup against Class A. 176

Later Academic Competition

By the Paper Shuffle period, Class C is regarded as academically weaker than Class D despite Class D’s internal disorder. Kaneda’s grades are overwhelming within Class C, but would only be upper-middle tier in stronger classes. 202

In the Selection Exam, Class C is led by Manabe and paired against Class D, led by Kushida Kikyo. 261

• Class C’s apparent weakness differs from Class D’s: Class D is described as wasting its potential through internal friction, while Class C is considered weak because of its limited overall ceiling. 202
