Horikita Manabu gazed at the first-year student before him. The fact that the boy had perceived the Deep Rules of the school on his very first day and led his class in reclaiming Private Points was a clear testament to his capability.

If he were to go up against Nagumo, he would surely produce unexpected results.

"So, what is it that you want me to do, Horikita-senpai?"

Hashiba Hikaru stared into Horikita Manabu's eyes, wanting to know exactly what he was after.

"Hmm..."

Upon hearing the boy's question, Horikita Manabu turned his head to look at his younger sister beside him. The girl's expression was somewhat blank, and after meeting her brother's gaze, she hurriedly spoke up.

"Brother, is there something you want me to do?"

"..."

Horikita Manabu sighed. Of course, he didn't truly dislike his sister, nor was he forcing her to drop out today because of any genuine malice; there were deeper reasons at play.

However, the man did not want to explain himself now, intending instead to tell her all the answers when he graduated.

"Hashiba-kun, what I want you to do is not complicated. Haven't you been acting proactively since you enrolled? I want you to bring Suzune along in this process from now on, so she can thoroughly understand where her flaws lie."

"How about it?"

As soon as these words were spoken, the expressions of both Hashiba Hikaru and Horikita Suzune changed instantly.

The next moment, the girl cried out anxiously, "Brother, I don't need anyone else's help. I will rise to Class A on my own strength. Just wait..."

"No, this is my decision. You do not have the right to choose."

Horikita Manabu's cold gaze swept across Horikita Suzune's face as he said, word by word, "From the very beginning, you have misinterpreted the meaning of being aloof and being alone, which is why you fail to realize your own shortcomings."

"If you want to reach Class A, you will never achieve it with your current abilities. Recognize that fact immediately!"

"..."

After being coldly rejected by her brother once again, Horikita Suzune could only bite her lip hard, swallowing all the words she had originally intended to say.

"Hashiba-kun."

After silencing his sister, Horikita Manabu looked at the boy standing to the side, his tone grave: "Since I have told you about Nagumo's situation, you should understand why, right?"

"Hmm..."

Hashiba Hikaru pondered for a moment and immediately grasped Horikita Manabu's intention.

Once Nagumo Miyabi officially took power, he would certainly target the "inferior" students in the school, and the students in Class D would be the first to bear the brunt of his actions.

As an older brother, Horikita Manabu likely felt that Horikita Suzune could never reach Class A within two semesters, and if that were the case, her situation would become extremely troublesome. After all, being assigned to Class D right at the start of the school year naturally indicated that the girl possessed significant flaws.

"I think I can understand Horikita-senpai's feelings, but this shouldn't be the only reason, right?"

Hashiba Hikaru glanced at Horikita Suzune standing nearby and questioned Horikita Manabu, "Since you want my help, Horikita-senpai, let's stop beating around the bush."

"Heh, that is indeed not the only reason."

Horikita Manabu was quite satisfied that the boy had keenly deduced his intent without him having to state it directly.

The corners of his mouth curled up as he added, "Nagumo's philosophy actually runs counter to the school's original intentions, because this school was established to cultivate well-rounded, excellent students."

"Every student who enrolls has been specially recommended. Regardless of their entrance exam scores, as long as they receive a recommendation, they will certainly be admitted here."

"Possessing different traits and coming from different backgrounds, striving and clashing in this closed environment, and finally transforming into more perfect talents—this is what the school wants to see."

A very serious light flickered in Horikita Manabu's eyes. He deeply approved of the school's founding policy, which was the reason he had become the Student Council president.

"If Nagumo were to implement his own policies, it would severely deviate from the school's plan and destroy the potential of certain individuals."

"..."

So that was it. This was likely the reason Horikita Manabu had been struggling against Nagumo all this time. After all, the other party was the legitimate vice president of the Student Council; without a special reason, Horikita Manabu couldn't do much to him.

Meanwhile, upon hearing her brother's words, Horikita Suzune seemed to realize something in her mind.

She understood that this Nagumo must be her brother's current enemy and that he might pose a threat to other students in the school.

"So, what is your answer?"

After finishing his explanation, Horikita Manabu looked straight into Hashiba Hikaru's eyes. "You previously refused to join the Student Council. What are your thoughts now? Do you still intend to refuse me?"

"No."

The boy shook his head. This information was still very important and could certainly help them seize the initiative.

But since he was going to help, he naturally had to gain something in return; otherwise, wouldn't he be at a loss?

"I can agree to Horikita-senpai's request, but if I do this, what will I get out of it?"

Chapter 51: Two Spots

"I can agree to Horikita-senpai's request, but if I do this, what will I get out of it?"

After he finished speaking, Horikita Manabu, who seemed to have anticipated this, replied immediately: "If there is anything you want, you can state it directly."

Hearing this, Horikita Suzune, who was standing to the side, instantly raised her head and stared straight at the boy standing there.

Upon learning that her brother actually intended to have this student, Hashiba, help her, the emotions in the girl's heart had been complex.

She wanted to prove her own ability, but she had been flatly rejected by Horikita Manabu. Now, hearing that the other party could actually negotiate terms with her brother, she became even more concerned about this student named Hashiba.

"Hmm... I was originally planning to ask for Private Points from you, Horikita-senpai," Hashiba Hikaru said with a smile, rubbing his hair. "But then I thought about it, and if I were just collecting points, it would feel like a bit of a loss."

"Isn't your Class B currently collecting points? This is a perfect opportunity, so why the change of heart?"

"It's simple. Since Horikita-senpai trusts me enough to help Horikita-san reach Class A, I certainly can't let that trust go to waste," the boy said with a gentle smile, continuing, "If I were just taking points, wouldn't that turn this into a simple transaction?"

"That's not the kind of thing I like; I prefer mutual assistance."

"Heh, then what is it that you want?" Horikita Manabu stared at Hashiba Hikaru's face, unable to quite grasp the boy's true attitude.

"I can help Horikita-san grow in the days to come, but Horikita-senpai must grant me two spots," Hashiba Hikaru held up two fingers, "two spots in the Student Council."

"Oh? I thought you weren't interested in joining the Student Council?"

"It's not for me, of course. I will find two suitable candidates and have them submit their applications to the Student Council. When that time comes, Horikita-senpai must accept them unconditionally, and once they are in, you must not make things difficult for them."

Hashiba Hikaru smiled, his tone sounding quite pleased. "How about it? Can Horikita-senpai agree to this condition?"

"..."

The bespectacled man pondered the request seriously for a moment before making his decision.

"Very well. You can give me the names of those two people, and I will have Tachibana Akane keep an eye out for them."

Horikita Manabu nodded, signaling his acceptance of the request, then added, "If you reach into the Student Council now, you might alert Nagumo."

"It doesn't matter. We'll end up clashing sooner or later anyway. Since his goal is to practice true meritocracy, we underclassmen have no choice but to accept the challenge."

Hashiba Hikaru shrugged, indicating that it didn't bother him at all.

"Then let it be so."

Faced with the boy's relaxed attitude, Horikita Manabu said nothing more and instead looked at the black-haired girl standing nearby.

"Suzune, exchange contact information with Hashiba-kun."

"..."

Although Horikita Suzune wasn't very familiar with Hashiba Hikaru, she had no choice now that her brother had spoken. She walked over, took out her phone, and exchanged numbers with the boy.

Once they finished, Horikita Manabu looked at his stubborn younger sister, his tone softening slightly.

"Suzune, if you want to catch up to me so badly, then show me," the man said, adjusting his glasses as he looked at the girl. "Hashiba-kun will assist you. If you can reach Class A before I graduate, I will acknowledge your ability."

"I..."

"Do not refuse help from others. Hashiba-kun noticed the anomalies of this school on the very first day; such talent is unprecedented among all the students who have come before."

Horikita Manabu knew what his sister was thinking and continued calmly, "That is why I am having him help you. You are lacking in too many areas right now, and ability is only one aspect of it."

"I won't ask Hashiba-kun to be your lackey or your bodyguard. In the future, you can discuss any of your plans with him, but how he chooses to help you is entirely up to him."

"I understand. I will work hard, and I will definitely make Brother see my progress!"

Horikita Suzune nodded firmly. Since her brother was willing to give her a chance, she certainly wouldn't refuse.

"Hashiba-kun," seeing that his sister had accepted the arrangement, Horikita Manabu looked at the boy beside him, "your goal should be to lead your Class B toward Class A. In the process, you can guide Suzune appropriately and help her realize her own shortcomings."

"Rest assured, Horikita-senpai. Since you've agreed to my request, I naturally won't go back on my word."

Hashiba Hikaru held up his phone and said to the man in front of him, "Let's exchange contact information as well. Once I've confirmed the names of those two people, I'll send the information to you."

"Very well."

Horikita Manabu nodded and exchanged phone numbers with Hashiba Hikaru. Watching this scene, Horikita Suzune felt more and more that the Hashiba-kun before her was truly extraordinary.

Horikita Suzune had witnessed the entire conversation. Even though her brother had been in control at the start, she realized that as time passed, the boy had taken the initiative and seized control of the flow of the discussion.

"Then, let's end it here for today. You two can head back to the dorms. I have things to attend to, so excuse me."

After saying this, Horikita Manabu turned and walked into the dark campus without a hint of hesitation.

"Horikita-san, I look forward to working with you," Hashiba Hikaru said, looking at the girl beside him with a gentle, friendly expression.

"Hashiba-kun, when did you and my bro... when did you and President Horikita meet?" Horikita Suzune brushed her ink-black hair and stared intently at the boy's face.

"Hmm, it must have been after school started. We met on the track field."

Hashiba Hikaru knew what she was thinking and quickly took the lead. "Since your goal is to reach Class A, I will support you from the shadows."

"However, you should know that I am currently a student in Class B, so I can't openly aid the enemy. From now on, we will communicate via phone," the boy explained slowly. "If you encounter any situation, you can send me a message, and I will provide my perspective."

"If there is a particularly troublesome situation, I will find an opportunity to meet you, but we should keep those to a minimum."

"I... understand."

The girl nodded, though she was actually quite reluctant to message a boy she had just met so frequently. She had no experience texting friends, either.

"Heh, don't think about never messaging me," Hashiba Hikaru said with a mischievous grin, shaking his phone. "I just exchanged contact info with Horikita-senpai, and if you never send anything..."

"I'll just... get it, right?"

"..."

This guy!

Horikita Suzune gritted her teeth. She hadn't expected that the person who had just held his own against her brother would reveal such a nasty side so quickly.

"If I encounter any problems, I will tell you directly. Please rest assured, Hashiba-kun!"

"That's more like it. We're comrades-in-arms now, so let's work together from here on out, Horikita-san."

"Yes, Hashiba-kun."

Horikita Suzune shot a sharp glare at the boy, who still wore a faint smile, before turning around and walking away quickly, as if she didn't want to spend even a second longer in this place.

"Tch, what an unlovable person."

Hashiba Hikaru opened his phone. It had been a truly fruitful day; he had managed to add four people's phone numbers in one go.

Hirata Yosuke, Kushida Kikyo, as well as Horikita Suzune and Horikita Manabu.

These were all sources of information that had to be utilized properly.

Hashiba Hikaru already had a decent candidate in mind for those two Student Council spots; it just depended on how his subsequent interactions with that person went.

After all, he had just spent 50,000 in system funds. If he couldn't make a massive profit, wouldn't that be a waste?

Author's Note on Launch

As the title suggests, this book will be officially published tomorrow.

The reason I started writing this Classroom of the Elite fanfic was actually because I ran out of things to read and wanted to write a novel that I personally enjoyed.

The airing of the third season of the Classroom of the Elite anime felt like a good opportunity. After all, compared to the original work, the anime made quite a few changes—if you can retcon the story, so can I (just kidding).

The Classroom of the Elite fanfics by other authors are quite good, but starting from Class B is rare. Class B is clearly a very excellent group, yet they constantly suffer setbacks in the story, which left me feeling a bit frustrated. That's about the gist of it.

The purpose of writing this book is to express some of my own ideas. I am a pure harem fan, and this inspiration came from a book I read previously that happened to align with my vision, so I started writing.

From the time I opened this book until now, thank you all for your support. Seeing everyone discuss the plot in the comments makes me very happy, as everyone who comes here is basically a fan of Classroom of the Elite, just like me.

As for the questions from some readers, I will provide a brief response here.

First, this book is definitely a harem. The "stocks" that should appear will naturally be there. The heroines are all very charming, and as they interact with the protagonist, they will gradually be attracted to him and eventually confirm their feelings.
