The black, centipede-shaped shadow coiled around Liu Erlong's spine seemed startled by his sudden approach. Its raised "head" jerked back, then its countless tiny tentacles began trembling wildly, emitting a series of grating, low-frequency hisses.

Grey Wolf chuckled and pulled a remote control from his pants. He pressed the red button marked with a skull.
"Try my latest invention, the 'Full-Band Brainwave Interferometer'!"

An invisible wave instantly enveloped the entire incubation tank.
This wasn't ordinary noise. It was a chaotic signal specifically designed to target the nervous system. If a person's nerve signals were like orderly traffic, this thing was like dumping a million tons of nails onto the road and smashing every traffic light.
