The Children of Nature had to survive the next six hundred difficult years. Only by enduring until the era in which Ansu returned could they see the dawn. In the meantime, the god would offer up all his divine power to form the last few barriers protecting his people.
First, he would bestow most of his divine power upon the land.
The area within fifty kilometers of the Divine Tree would become the Elven Race's last safe zone capable of resisting Demonization Sickness. All the elves would relocate within that boundary. For the next six hundred years, it would be their most important—and final—stronghold of resistance.
From influencing an entire continent at the height of his power, to protecting only Elune, and now shrinking his domain to this tiny patch of land, the God of Nature lamented the necessity of this helpless measure.
Next, he would use another portion of his divine power to bless a race of treants called the Tree Shepherds, making them his divine kin.
These powerful beings, bearing remnants of his divine power, would guard the borders of the safe zone for generations. They were the final safeguard he would leave his people against an invasion by the Demon armies.
