Thor held out both hands, wanting to take the potion.

But his right hand was incredibly stiff, while his left was nothing but bare bones.

Seeing this, the woman did not place the Crystal Bottle in Thor's hand. Instead, she pulled out the stopper herself and fed him the potion.

Thor mechanically

tilted his head back and cooperated as the woman poured the potion down his throat.

Having a beautiful woman feed you medicine was a wonderful thing.

Having half a beautiful woman feed you medicine... was not exactly good fortune.

Still, the potion really was effective.

As soon as he drank the bottle, Thor immediately felt a cold current flow from his throat into his stomach. He stopped shivering, and feeling gradually returned to both hands. Soon, he could move his right hand flexibly again.

His forehead felt a little itchy. When he raised a hand to touch it, he discovered that all the scabs from his old wounds had fallen off.

Only his left hand remained bare bone, showing no sign of recovery.

"With your current constitution, I'm afraid your left hand can't be restored." The woman casually set the Crystal Bottle on the table. "Unless you become a Wizard Apprentice."

Thor gave a bitter smile. "I'm only a servant."

"So what if you are?" The woman smiled. "If you're interested, I have an opportunity for you to take the test. It depends on whether you dare to participate."

A test to become a Wizard Apprentice?

Thor abruptly raised his head.

"I want to, my lady. I want to become a Wizard Apprentice."

"Oh ho ho ho~" The woman was not surprised by Thor's choice.

From the choice Thor had just made as a living test subject, it was clear that he had decent willpower and courage. Though he felt fear, he could still remain somewhat calm.

Those were all qualities a Wizard Apprentice should possess.

Thor waited until the woman finished laughing before continuing, "My lady, if you help me become a Wizard Apprentice, what will I need to give in return?"

"Give in return? What do you think you possess that could possibly match the qualifications to become a Wizard Apprentice?" The woman's tone suddenly changed again.

Thor froze, gradually calming down from his excitement.

After serving as a male servant for only a few days, he had already been desperate to escape that identity. That was why he had been so excited just now, even wanting the other party to name her price.

But the woman's rhetorical question immediately brought him back to his senses.

At present, he had no value whatsoever that would make her offer him a spot in the test.

Thor fell silent, but he had not given up on becoming a Wizard Apprentice.

He believed that the woman across from him had not mentioned the testing opportunity merely to tease him.

He should wait for her to name her terms.

"Do you really want to become a Wizard Apprentice?" the woman asked again. "Even if you end up looking like me?"

She suddenly leaned her upper body forward. The glass cover atop her head swayed violently, the milky-white liquid inside splashing into foam and waves. The eyeballs hidden in the liquid occasionally struck the glass walls, making dull thumping sounds.

Thor had occasionally seen Wizard Apprentices before, but none of them had looked as terrifying as this woman.

But...

"I do." Facing the woman's head directly, Thor answered in a low but resolute voice.

Rather than constantly worrying about becoming flower fertilizer, he would rather die while pursuing power.

"Good." The woman nodded in satisfaction. "In the next couple of days, a new batch of Apprentices will be sent in. If nothing unexpected happens, seven or eight of them will surely die on the way here. By convention, they will select a few servants to make up the numbers. I'll put your name in."

"Thank you, my lady."

"Kongsha."

"?"

"Level 2 Wizard Apprentice Kongsha. If you pass the test to become a Wizard Apprentice, remember to choose Mentor Kazi."

"I understand, Lady Kongsha. My name is..."

"No need." Kongsha interrupted him. "Tell me your name after you become a Wizard Apprentice."

Thor fell silent.

Before becoming a Wizard Apprentice, he was merely a servant who did not even deserve to have a name in Kongsha's eyes.

It was very realistic.

But within the Wizard Tower, status had always matched strength.

Thor left Kongsha's room, and the door silently closed before him.

He looked back. The blood that had originally been across from him had disappeared, and he had no idea how Kongsha had done it.

The candlelight on the wall had already turned nearly bright yellow.

Thor hurriedly examined the remaining corridor.

There was no visible filth.

He had no time to keep cleaning. As long as there was no conspicuous trash, the Butlers would not actually wipe the floor with white gloves.

Thor turned around and pushed his cart as he raced away, finally running into the fourth-floor corridor before the Candle Lamp turned white.

Panting heavily, he returned the miscellaneous items to the storeroom and dumped out the trash.

"Finally finished before the Butlers' inspection."

Thor subconsciously used the back of his left hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead, but the hard bones scratched his skin painfully.

"My left hand still has no sense of pain, or even touch."

He flexed several fingers.

"But it can already move freely. Is this the power of Witchcraft?"

After accepting that his left hand might remain bare bone forever, Thor became fascinated by the power contained within it.

He looked at his right hand again. Although it only appeared more delicate on the surface, Thor could feel the strength hidden within.

He casually picked up a stone from the storeroom's trash bin and gave it a light squeeze. The stone shattered into several pieces.

"My right hand should be the result of a successful experiment. Its grip strength is extremely high, far beyond that of an ordinary adult man. I imagine even the warriors and knights of this world could not grip much harder than this."

Just by adding a few more ingredients, the potion's effects could differ so drastically.

Thor once again strengthened his resolve to become a Wizard Apprentice.

With that thought, he left the storeroom, walked to the door of the bedroom where they rested, and pushed it open a crack.

Because he was still examining his hands, he opened the door very slowly.

At that moment, voices drifted out from inside, making Thor stop.

"That guy Thor still hasn't come back. Looks like he really died this time."

"Hmph, it wasn't easy for him to survive this long after offending a Wizard Apprentice."

"Sigh, now that he's dead, we'll have to take turns getting up early to clean the corridor again."

The room fell silent.

Thor, meanwhile, frowned deeply. So cleaning the corridor was supposed to be done in rotation?

These people had actually taken advantage of his incomplete memory and shoved this dangerous job entirely onto him?

After a while, someone inside spoke again.

"Thinking about it, it would have been better if Thor had stayed alive. He lost most of his earlier memories, so wouldn't he still have to listen to us about what he could and couldn't do? Now we have to start rotating the Dawn Task again. Who knows when one of us might die for no reason."

"Who says the Dawn Task has to be rotated?"

"What?"

"We've had Thor cleaning the corridor all this time, and the Butlers never said anything, did they? Starting tomorrow, let George do it."

"He hasn't lost his memory. Will he agree?"

"If he refuses, beat him until he agrees."

By this point, everyone seemed certain that Thor was dead. They began chattering away, arranging for the next unlucky victim.

Bang!

Thor kicked the door open.

"Starting tomorrow," he said, sweeping his gaze over the boys in the room, "the corridor-cleaning duty will continue to be done in rotation!"

Some were startled by Thor, while others revealed savage smiles after their initial delight.

The smiling boy was Brown, the strongest and most muscular of the male servants. He was also the one who slept at the far left of the communal bed.

He enjoyed the best source of light and the honor of being first in line for food.

He had earned all that with his fists.

And now, some little brat actually dared disobey his arrangements. Brown cracked his knuckles, determined to teach Thor what rules were!

Brown walked over and swung a fist without a word.

Smack!

However, Brown's fist was blocked by Thor's right hand.

"Bastard!" Brown had not expected Thor's reaction to be so fast. He tried to pull his hand back and attack again.

But he quickly realized that his hand was being gripped tightly and could not be pulled free at all.

Since when had Thor become so strong?

He was clearly as skinny as a ten-year-old child.

Thor, meanwhile, felt the force transmitted back through his right hand.

What a weakling!

Expressionless, he applied a little force.

Crack!

"Aaaahhh—"

Brown immediately curled up in agony.

Once Thor released his hand, Brown immediately clutched it and fell to the ground, convulsing.
