Thor flew at a low altitude, weaving through the forest of ruins while searching for any other suspicious items.

"A little further ahead."

Penny was directing him.

"Right over there, it should be in that building."

Finally, Thor stopped on the ridge of a small three-story building, looking at a similar structure across the way.

This was the Inner City of Kaositer; unlike the high-rises in the northwest, this area consisted mostly of low but exquisite buildings.

In the past, these were mostly residences for wizards and Wizard Apprentices, though some high-ranking commoners lived here as well.

The buildings here were not as tall, nor were they as severely damaged as those in the high-rise district.

Most of the structures had not collapsed, though the windows and doors were essentially destroyed.

The eaves and the interiors of the rooms were covered in a thick layer of Gray dust.

As far as the eye could see, everything was empty, with no sign of anyone.

But at this moment, a Shadow Monster was writhing in the room opposite Thor.

The Shadow Monster appeared to be a person, draped in a dust-covered, tattered cloak, seemingly stooping to grope for something.

Thor did not approach immediately, choosing instead to observe its movements from across the street.

"What do you think he's looking for?" Thor asked his two companions residing within the Diary.

"Food?" Herman asked.

"Doesn't look like it," Penny immediately retorted. "Look at where he's searching; that's not where a normal person would keep food."

Thor had noticed this as well.
