Stay Away from Places with Water

After leaving the upper-level room, Thor was about to return to his cabin.

But at the corner of the stairs, he spotted a little girl.

She was a tiny thing, about four or five years old. She sucked on her left thumb as she looked up at Thor with round, bright eyes.

"Big brother, are you a bad guy?"

Thor hadn't seen a human child this young in a long time. He crouched down to look at her. "I'm not a bad guy."

"If you're not a bad guy, why did you go into that house?"

"If you were a bad guy, you wouldn't have come back out."

The little girl's mouth fell open in a perfect circle, as if she'd suddenly understood.

Thor found her amusing. He patted her on the head, then stood up, ready to head downstairs.

"Daddy!"

Thor froze. He looked down and realized the little girl wasn't calling to him, but to someone behind him.

He turned around and was surprised to see Paul, the Wizard Apprentice who had just interrogated him, standing in the corridor with an expressionless face.

The adorable human child rushed over to Paul and wrapped her arms around his knees. "Daddy!"

Paul, the Wizard Apprentice, remained rooted to the spot, without moving an inch. He looked as if the little girl had wrapped herself around him like a giant python.

But Thor could tell that Paul wasn't afraid of the little girl. He was nervous.

Extremely nervous.

"So he really is the kid's dad." Thor tried hard not to let his amusement show.

"Ahem." Paul cleared his throat, then suddenly covered the little girl's ears before speaking to Thor. "Here's a word of advice: don't trust Cat's Gratitude. People who come into contact with it may get lucky at first,
