After Caitlin Rowle was taken away, the students who had been watching finally returned to their dormitories one after another.
"What on earth happened?" Eddie was clearly quite excited. "Do you think Rowle's roommate cast a hex on her while she was asleep? Or maybe put some poison in her water glass?"
Roger, walking in front, turned his head and glared at him. "Stop guessing, Eddie! Such nonsense will damage the reputation of Ravenclaw!"
Eddie immediately shrank his neck.
"Poor Rowle, I really hope she'll be alright soon." Milton sighed with a pale face.
"Don't worry, Madam Pomfrey will cure her soon," Scott said casually to comfort him.
Of course, he was the only one who knew that was impossible.
Afterward, the roommates who had been woken up by the screaming went to the washroom, while Scott, who had already finished washing up, returned to his dormitory to grab a few books before heading back down the stairs to the common room.
"Good morning, Scott."
Luna's voice was as ethereal as ever.
She was standing in front of a window, looking through the glass at the distant Black Lake.
As Scott passed by her, she turned around and took the initiative to greet him.
"Good morning, Luna." Scott smiled at her.
Luna stared at Scott with her silvery eyes. "You seem to be in a good mood today."
Scott stopped in his tracks, gave her a probing look, and asked curiously, "Can you see my emotions?"
"What?" Luna tilted her head.
Seeing her confused expression, Scott shook his head again. "It's nothing. I'll be going now, Luna. Goodbye."
"Goodbye." Luna waved her hand.
Scott walked out of the common room, trotted down the spiral staircase, and after exiting Ravenclaw Tower, he crossed the corridor and climbed to the second floor of the castle.
The Hogwarts Hospital Wing was located in the wing on this floor.
Scott did not attempt to get close to the Hospital Wing. Instead, after passing through several corridors, he tucked a small object into a crack in the wall of one corridor, then turned into another corridor and pushed open the door to an abandoned classroom at the end.
Because the process of being sent to the Hospital Wing had caused quite a stir, Scott believed the news that Caitlin Rowle had contracted a strange illness had already spread throughout Hogwarts.
He felt that if Jasmine Travers and Morgan Avery heard this news, they would definitely choose to go to the Hospital Wing to take a look.
And since they would be coming from the Slytherin common room toward the Hospital Wing, the corridor on the side of this classroom was a path they had to pass.
Scott closed the classroom door, turned around, and walked to the window to push it open.
He took a piece of ebony from the Moke Skin Pouch at his waist and, repeating his old trick, cast a Compound Transfiguration.
However, this time he didn't choose a bat, but instead turned the ebony into a sparrow.
The sparrow flew out of the open window and landed on the windowsill of a window on the outside of the castle that overlooked the side corridor, hopping about.
Scott withdrew his gaze and took two small glass bottles out of the pouch again.
After once again turning two needle tips into Aedes aegypti, Scott let the two mosquitoes stay in the glass bottles for the time being.
After waiting for twenty minutes, Scott heard footsteps coming from the side corridor through his connection with the sparrow's hearing.
He immediately waved his wand at himself and whispered a spell to cast a Sensory Enhancement Charm.
Soon, with the help of the spell, he sensed the magic in the side corridor. Unfortunately, it was not Jasmine Travers and Morgan Avery.
Scott sighed silently; if he were in any other place, he wouldn't have to go through so much trouble.
As a magical castle that had stood for a thousand years, the magic contained within its architecture was too vast and complex, and this magic severely interfered with Scott's perception of magical energy.
In order not to expose himself, he had no choice but to use such a troublesome and clumsy method.
Another ten minutes passed, and more footsteps reached his ears.
"Sensory Enhancement."
Scott cast the Sensory Enhancement Charm on himself again, then slowly curled his lips.
The targets had appeared.
He waved his wand, and the two mosquitoes immediately flew out of the glass bottles, slipping through the gap under the classroom door.
Scott stood where he was, not moving.
In his perception, the two tiny mosquitoes crossed a corridor and pursued Jasmine Travers and Morgan Avery.
After getting close to the two girls, the mosquitoes slowed their flight speed, muffling the buzzing sound.
Finally, the two mosquitoes separated and flew downward, landing on the ankles of the two girls respectively, and gave them a light bite.
The reason he chose the ankle area was that it was the most inconvenient place to swat—if the targets wanted to swat them, they would have to bend over.
Therefore, by the time the two girls noticed the slight pain and bent down, the two mosquitoes had already flown to the wall nearby and burrowed into a crack in the bricks.
Immediately afterward, the small mechanism Scott had placed in the brick crack was knocked open by the mosquitoes, and several real Biting Midges flew out from within.
At this distance, neither Scott himself nor the sparrow perched outside the window could hear the conversation between the two girls clearly.
He only sensed that they were furiously casting several spells at the Biting Midges before storming off in a rage.
Scott stood in the abandoned classroom, waiting for the two mosquitoes to fly back and transform into needles, which he then dropped into a glass bottle.
"Evanesco."
Scott flicked his wand, once again satisfied with the Vanishing Spell, which was the most suitable for destroying evidence.
Next, he used the same method to dispose of the sparrow and the small mechanism hidden in the cracks of the corridor wall.
After the morning classes ended, Scott had lunch with his roommates.
Following lunch, they returned to Ravenclaw Tower, only to find the students blocked at the entrance of the common room.
"What's going on?" Scott asked a couple from his year standing nearby.
"Professor Flitwick and Madam Pomfrey are inspecting Miss Rowle's dormitory," Dylan Kinwell said.
His girlfriend, Kayla White, added, "Perhaps they're going to inspect our common room too!"
The girl's face was somewhat pale; she was clearly frightened.
"It's too terrifying. Did you see what Caitlin looked like this morning?"
She gripped Dylan's hand tightly, as if trying to draw some strength from him.
"I heard that Madam Pomfrey determined it's a strange illness she's never seen before, not caused by a hex or a potion. Since there's no specific potion for this strange illness, she can only temporarily stabilize Caitlin's condition. She's trying to find the cause of Caitlin's illness in the dormitory."
"Don't worry, Kayla," Dylan comforted her in a low voice, "the professors will definitely find a way."
But Kayla remained deeply worried, "We don't even know if this terrible illness is contagious."
Soon, Professor Flitwick and Madam Pomfrey emerged from the common room.
"Nothing! We didn't find anything that could cause the illness!" Madam Pomfrey looked rather dejected. "I'm sorry, Filius, perhaps we should send the child to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries as soon as possible."
"Let's go find Dumbledore."
Professor Flitwick's expression was also grim, and the two of them hurried away.
Subsequently, the students' strange illness quickly alarmed their families, and Caitlin Rowle's parents soon arrived at the school to take her to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.
But the matter did not seem to be over.
In the afternoon, two first-year Slytherin female students fell directly into a coma during class, immediately exhibiting the exact same symptoms as Caitlin Rowle.
