The three of them followed Professor McGonagall to her office.
Not long after, the fireplace in the office roared to life, and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley stepped out.
Scott could tell the couple had been summoned from their sleep at the last minute. They hadn't even had time to change, and had hurried over with robes thrown over their pajamas.
"Oh! Professor McGonagall, my dear! My daughter!" Mrs. Weasley asked anxiously. "Is Ginny all right? That House-elf who woke us could barely get a word out!"
Professor McGonagall hurried to reassure her. "She's fine and safe, Molly. She's with Dumbledore now."
"She's fine! Arthur, she's fine!"
Mrs. Weasley turned to her husband, and Mr. Weasley nodded quickly.
Mrs. Weasley looked as though she might burst into tears of joy.
She let out a huge sigh of relief and patted her chest. "She's so young, and she's only just started at Hogwarts. I was so worried..."
As she spoke, she noticed George and Fred sitting in the corner of the office.
"George! Fred!" Her eyes widened at once, and she was almost roaring. "It isn't even light out yet! Why are you here? Have you two been up to something again?"
Scott saw the twin brothers beside him shrink back in unison.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Weasley."
Scott patted George on the shoulder and stepped forward.
Then he saw Mrs. Weasley's expression change in an instant. She gave him a warm smile. "Oh! Dear, who are you?"
"My name is Scott Trollope, ma'am. I'm a fourth-year Ravenclaw."
Scott introduced himself, then added, "I'm very sorry. George and Fred broke the school rules this time because I invited them."
"Oh, dear, you don't have to make excuses for them."
Mrs. Weasley smiled kindly at Scott, then glared fiercely at the twins.
