It was finally over.
After receiving a stern dressing-down from Professor McGonagall, Scott and the Weasley Twins walked out of her office.
Fortunately, Professor McGonagall had let Potter leave before she started reprimanding them.
And because he had helped kill the Basilisk, Potter had also earned house points and the Special Award for Services to the School.
Seeing how delighted Potter was, Scott knew he wouldn't have to deal with Potter's resentment over his "telling on him."
In the corridor, Fred said indignantly, "This isn't fair! We made a huge contribution to this whole thing! I think they should give each of us more points, or give us a 'Special Award for Services to the School' too!"
George gave him a hearty slap on the back. "Hey! Don't forget, points and medals were never what we were after!"
"Oh! Right!" Fred put on a horrified expression. "What was wrong with me just now? Was I under the Imperius Curse?"
Scott ignored their antics and yawned as sleepiness caught up with him.
He said calmly, "We weren't punished, we got points, and we even have the day off. That's already pretty good."
He truly didn't care about medals, which offered no real benefits.
He waved at the Twins.
"Are you going to the Hospital Wing to see Ginny? Then I'm going back to bed."

"Sleep well, mate!"
George and Fred said with a laugh.
But Scott's next words wiped the smiles from their faces.
"Don't forget Dumbledore's invitation to afternoon tea. We still haven't given him the full details of what we did. You'd better think of a good way to hide the Marauder's Map."
