Along the way, Jiraiya and Orochimaru kept trading barbs, their bickering practically obliterating the Great Way.
Hikawa found that the way they got along was quite similar to Hatake Kakashi and Obito Uchiha.
"You two go to the grilled meat restaurant first."
Tsunade interrupted their argument and said, "Hikawa and I will join you later."
"What are you going to do? Don't tell me you're taking my money to gamble?"
Jiraiya gave Orochimaru one last lingering look, then turned to Tsunade and asked suspiciously.
He spent his days outside searching for the Child of Prophecy.
Orochimaru stayed cooped up in Root conducting experiments.
It had been over a year since the two had last met. Trading a few insults was rather nostalgic for him.
"Do you take me for that kind of person?"
Tsunade asked irritably.
Jiraiya hesitated, clearly wanting to say something.
"It won't take long."
Tsunade turned around and said, "Ten minutes."
"Looks like it's not gambling."
Jiraiya stroked his chin and said in puzzlement, "Tsunade actually isn't gambling anymore?"
"It's for Hikawa."
Orochimaru watched their retreating figures and said.
Jiraiya was slightly startled, then fell into thought.
They were not going gambling, yet Tsunade had brought Hikawa along. Orochimaru's guess was highly likely to be right.
"What? Are you jealous of Hikawa?"
Orochimaru chuckled and asked.
"I'd be jealous of a kid?"
Jiraiya glared at him and retorted.
"Tsunade treats Hikawa much better than she treats you."
Orochimaru delivered the cutting remark with perfect precision.
"Bastard!"
Jiraiya flew into a rage. "Let me see whether you've improved at all this past year!"
"You start fighting when you can't win an argument? Childish behavior."
Orochimaru shook his head and walked into the grilled meat restaurant.
"You!"
Jiraiya, thoroughly exasperated,
