Listening to Kakashi's explanation, the Shadow Clone could only purse his lips helplessly. Then he began making Hand Seals "quickly." Since he didn't want to reveal his true skill, Sasuke's Shadow Clone made six seals per second.

"That speed... As expected of a genius!" Watching Sasuke's speed with Hand Seals, Kakashi's expression stiffened a little. Then he began thinking about how to deal with Sasuke.

The Gōkakyū engulfed Kakashi. After a long while, all that remained where he had been standing was a charred log.

"Not bad, but you let your guard down, Sasuke!" As he spoke, Kakashi reached out, grabbed Sasuke by the ankle, and dragged him underground.

"Earth Release: Headhunter Jutsu!"

With a declaration of victory, Kakashi slowly appeared in front of Sasuke.

"Your jutsu was powerful, but your awareness was terrible! You can't go on like this!" Kakashi looked down at Sasuke, who had nothing but his head above the ground.

"Thanks for the lesson, sensei. But it seems like this isn't the right time for that!" Seeing that Kakashi already thought he had won, the Shadow Clone gave a disdainful smile, then vanished on the spot.

"A Shadow Clone? When did he—?"

When Sasuke suddenly turned into a puff of smoke, Kakashi was genuinely surprised. He hadn't even noticed Sasuke making Hand Seals!

"You're something else, Sasuke!" Thinking back over the fight, Kakashi realized for the first time that Sasuke might be a handful. He hadn't expected the kid to use a Shadow Clone right under his nose and slip away without a sound.

"Idiot!"

While Kakashi was still thinking about how to deal with Sasuke, Naruto climbed painfully out of the water and glared at him, resentment written all over his face.

"Multi Shadow Clone Technique!"

After fixing Kakashi with a resentful stare, Naruto used the jutsu he'd learned from the Sealing Scroll, ready to deal with Kakashi the same way he'd dealt with Mizuki.

"Hey, hey, isn't this a bit much?"

As Naruto created dozens of Shadow Clones, Kakashi fought them off while envying Naruto's enormous Chakra reserves.

In the woods, Sasuke was out for a walk. When he sensed his Shadow Clone disappear, his eyes flickered, and he slowly headed back toward the training ground.

By the river, Kakashi took out a rope and tied the completely exhausted Naruto to a post. Then he slowly walked toward the woods.

The first one was caught. Next was the little girl. As for Sasuke, Kakashi decided to capture him last. That kid had been full of surprises.

In the woods, Sakura had been secretly watching the fight by the river. When she saw that idiot Naruto had been caught, she felt relieved. It looked like she and Sasuke could become Genin after all!

Realizing this, Sakura hurried into the woods to tell Sasuke the good news...

After only a few steps, she saw something that made her question reality.

Sasuke lay on the ground, covered in blood, muttering to himself.

"Run... That guy really will kill us... Run... Run..."

Hearing Sasuke speak like that, Sakura's legs gave way, and she collapsed to the ground, trembling.

"No, this can't be real..."

Watching Sakura lying unconscious on the ground from his perch in a tree, Kakashi looked baffled. Were his students really this weak against Genjutsu?

"That's the second one. Now I just need to find Sasuke, and then we can start the test!"

After tying Sakura up with a rope, Kakashi continued deeper into the woods. Sasuke was sure to be somewhere in there—that was the conclusion Kakashi had reached after analyzing the situation.

Meanwhile, Sasuke had reached the river. He looked at Naruto, who was tied up tightly to a post, his expression unreadable.

"You've really had a rough time, dead last!"

Sasuke walked over to the dejected Naruto, pulled out a kunai, and cut the ropes binding him. Then he headed toward the woods.

"If I hadn't skipped a meal, I would've gotten the bells already!" Rescued by Sasuke, Naruto looked at him, his expression unreadable.

"Let's go save them!"

Ignoring Naruto's words, Sasuke headed into the woods. If nothing had gone wrong, Haruno Sakura had probably already been captured.

"All right!" At Sasuke's words, Naruto tore his gaze away from the lunch box on the post and slowly followed him into the woods.

In the woods, Kakashi was searching for Sasuke when he suddenly remembered something. He hurriedly turned and headed back to where he'd caught Naruto.

In the woods, Sasuke looked at Sakura, who lay on the ground trembling all over. His expression was unreadable. What an awful pose.

"Sakura, wake up!" Unlike Sasuke, who did nothing, Naruto went straight over and patted Sakura when he saw his goddess like this.

"You're hopeless!" When Sasuke realized Naruto didn't even know how to break a Genjutsu, he helplessly pressed a hand to his forehead. Then he crouched down and helped Sakura dispel it.

"Idiot!"

Hearing Sasuke's assessment of him, Naruto felt thoroughly uncomfortable. Being called that by Sasuke over and over was downright humiliating!

"Sasuke-kun?"

Just as Naruto was about to challenge Sasuke to a match, Sakura slowly opened her eyes.

"Let's go eat!" Once he saw that Sakura had woken up, Sasuke headed straight for the riverbank. If he hadn't needed to pass the test, he wouldn't have bothered saving those two.

"All right!"

At the word "eat," Naruto shouted excitedly and raced toward the river.

"Thank you!"

After Naruto left, Sakura thanked Sasuke.

"Let's go!"

Sasuke shrugged at her thanks, then headed off. Sakura immediately followed.

In the distance, Kakashi watched the three of them leave and smiled with satisfaction. Then he jingled the bells in his hand.

"Though it's a little unnecessary, I still have to go through the motions!" After resting for a while, Kakashi finally ambled toward the riverbank.

Kakashi was completely baffled. Sasuke had shown real teamwork!
