The Divine Weapon Realm was a typical ring-shaped world. The Golden Sun at its center, which served as the weapon's core, normally supplied the inhabited zones with light and heat; in battle, it became ammunition for the Vast Light Cannon.
The Vast Light Cannon's charge had exceeded thirty-seven percent. The star had been compressed into a dimly glowing red point, and the residential zone, once eternally bright, was now incomparably dark.
Yet it was not lifelessly silent.
In the darkness, a scarlet beam flashed past. Flame-light pierced a fortress exuding demonic qi, and moments later, a brilliant explosion bloomed from the demons' stronghold.
The golden-orange fireball rose like a beacon, trailing billowing smoke and illuminating the brutal battlefield in that pitch-black world.
Within the residential and factory districts that had once belonged to Dao Court personnel, the Kun Demons and demons were locked in a drawn-out slaughter.
After being briefly driven out of the Core Region by the Kun Demons, the demons swiftly organized a counterattack—though the Kun Demons feared no death, the demons felt no fear either, their minds wholly controlled by the Old Ancestor Great Sage. Bloodless, tearless steel giant insects collided with equally crazed demons, erupting in great showers of sparks.
Blood plasma and grease splashed across the earth, then were ignited by Supernatural Abilities and martial arts. Enormous roars mingled with the clangor of twisting, colliding steel beneath the vault of heaven. Amid brief flashes of supernatural light, one could see ranks of black demonic hordes tangled with ranks of silver metal insect swarms, blending into a chaotic gray.
But overall, the demonic horde held the upper hand.
The Kun Demons' intelligence hub was still being disrupted by the Heavenly Demons, making it difficult to issue effective commands. Orders even contradicted and conflicted with one another.
