Background

Alpha was born into a clan descended from Olivier, one of the Three Heroes. Gifted in martial training, she was once valued by her parents and clan elders and trained under her aunt, Beatrix. Her life changed after she was afflicted by a curse: her community abandoned her, Beatrix left without explanation, and her parents eventually sold her. Alpha rejected her former name, Malena, and later refused to recognize those who had abandoned her as family 290 303 304.

She became the leader of Shadow Garden and regarded herself as its strongest member beneath Lord Shadow. Her loyalty to Cid Kagenou and responsibility for the organization initially defined her actions 228 232.

Her past has left her deeply distrustful of family. She treats Beatrix with cold hostility despite their former closeness, considering her aunt's departure part of the abandonment that followed Alpha's curse 290 303 304.

Initially defiant toward Ye Yunchuan, Alpha is forcibly placed under his control and threatened through Cid's safety. Alpha attacks Ye Yunchuan after he infiltrates Shadow Garden and takes Lord Shadow's throne. He immobilizes her with aura-based control, prevents her from using magic, and commandeers her Slime Suit. Her inability to resist establishes the vast power disparity between Ye and the Seven Shadows 228 229.

When Cid arrives to rescue his subordinates, Alpha witnesses his defeat and joins the Seven Shadows in pleading for his life. Ye demands Shadow Garden and its members as the price of sparing Cid 231 232.

Coerced Partnership and Pregnancy

After Ye defeats Cid's resistance, Alpha is pressured into remaining with him. She becomes pregnant, while continuing to struggle with her identity, loyalty to Cid, and growing attachment to Ye 239 245.

Alpha later accepts a greater administrative role within the expanded Shadow Garden, even as she fears that Ye's influence is gradually erasing her former loyalty to Cid 276 309.

Sanctuary and Diablos Cult Conflict

Alpha joins the Seven Shadows' fight against Nie Yusen at the Sanctuary. After Ye frees Aurora and the Sanctuary collapses, she orders Delta to prevent Nie Yusen's escape 272.
