Background / History

Origins Across Different Settings

The race’s creation is described at several cosmological scales. Within All Heavens and Myriad Worlds, the Life God and Devil Yu Ti created humanity in an ancient era. The Source of All Worlds subsequently caused humans to evolve naturally in countless worlds; their widespread presence was not solely the result of migration 630.

At the scale of the Endless Void, Nuwa is identified as the creator of its earliest humans, formed by kneading clay. Beyond the Three Thousand Dimensions, humanity is also a Pinnacle great race. Humans arose within those dimensions because their rules were influenced by the Source Dao Sea 911 1401.

Early Subjugation and Divine Eras

Before the emergence of the Origin Divine Court, humanity served the Immortal Clan. Humans born with Immortal Cultivation Spiritual Roots could enter the Immortal Clan, while ordinary mortals remained subordinate across generations and reincarnations. The Origin Divine Court broke this arrangement by allowing ordinary humans to grow stronger 491.

Successive Deity eras brought humanity protection and cultivation opportunities. When Divine Courts fell, surviving believers and their descendants continued teaching later generations. These inherited foundations, together with the weakening of humanity’s enemies by deities, helped produce the subsequent Human Emperor Era 323 419.

After the Human Emperor Era ended, the Demonic Creature, Heavenly, Earth, Immortal, Buddha, Dao, Blood Sea, and Nether Mist Clans participated in attacks on humanity. Three of its six great imperial courts were destroyed. The remaining three survived partly because the Immortal, Dao, and Buddha Clans sought to absorb their populations and institutions 613.

Fortune Dynasties and Ancient Defenders

Huo Qubing identifies nine Fortune Dynasties that reached the pinnacle of human civilization: Great Xia, Great Shang, Great Zhou, Great Qin, Great Han, Great Sui, Great Tang, Great Song, and Great Ming. They belonged to different eras but passed portions of their foundations between generations. Great Han, for example, inherited part of Great Qin’s legacy 877.

Their enemies possessed Taboo existences beyond the Dao Ancestor level, contributing to the dynasties’ successive collapses. Li Yue’s Eternity Dao Court is later identified as humanity’s tenth Fortune Dynasty 906 1052.

After the collapse of Divine Han and the Wei, Shu, and Wu Fortune Dynasties, Ran Min rallied humans and other races against Void Lifeforms. He fought countless battles and killed numerous Void Lifeform Dao Ancestors. Even when only one drop of his blood remained, he offered to fight again 1055.

At the wider dimensional scale, Mo Hai, founder of the Martial Path, led humanity from weakness to dominance across the Three Thousand Dimensions. His recorded achievements include killing twelve Dimension-level Taboo Lives and destroying four Ninefold Fusion Dimensions 1279.

Biology & Cultivation

Bloodlines and Reproduction

  • Ordinary humans form the race’s foundation. Their bloodlines are comparatively weak, but their exceptional reproductive ability spreads humanity widely and produces large numbers of geniuses 453.
  • Stronger bloodlines reproduce less readily. This is a rule of All Worlds, not a limitation unique to humanity 453.
  • Cultivation strengthens descendants’ bloodlines. Great Emperor descendants retain exceptional inherited qualities even after tens of thousands of generations 453.
  • Regional branches differ in potential. The Eight Desolations Human Race possesses particularly high-grade bloodlines; humans from the Evil God World also have somewhat greater potential than ordinary humans 453.
  • Mixed ancestry can establish separate clans. Fox-People, Ox-Head People, Horse-Face People, and Goshawk People descend from unions between ancient human powerhouses and foreign races 434.
  • Environment strongly affects martial advancement. In the Great Zhou Imperial Dynasty’s 13,000-year history, only two people reached the Tenth Order apart from its exceptional Human Holy Body 205.

War Bodies and Holy Bodies

Rare human physiques can provide combat advantages beyond ordinary cultivation talent.

  • Nine Great War Bodies: Special physiques naturally suited to combat. Their bearers can generally fight across ranks, including against Demonic Creatures 83 149.
  • Further evolution: The Ascension, Hundred Calamity, and Undying War Bodies can evolve. All nine possess a small possibility of becoming a Holy Body 149.
  • Human Holy Bodies: Exceptionally rare physiques with tremendous potential. Qin Wange’s Holy Body is considered sufficient to take him beyond the King realm 185.
  • Divine bestowal: A War Body Divine Talisman can transform a believer’s mortal body into a Martial Path War Body 83.
  • Ascension Holy Body phenomena: Its emergence produces the signs called “Immortal Plucking the Zither” and “Green Lotus Ascension” 225.

Human Dao Merit

Human Dao Merit, also called Humanity Merit, is bestowed upon those who contribute to humanity 67.

  • Even a small amount identifies someone who has fought for the race 67.
  • It can protect a soul after death, as demonstrated by Wei Xiangyang 68.
  • It can reduce the Divine Law Fragments required for divine investiture 68.
  • After reincarnation, merit may become increased potential rather than remain as merit. Li Yue observes this in Zhou Qingyi and Chu Hongyi 185.

Reincarnation

  • Eternal God City receives countless human souls through multiple Reincarnation Paths and is a major foundation of humanity’s survival across eras 453 630.
  • A single damaged Reincarnation Path can prevent humans in more than a thousand connected great worlds from being reborn 453.
  • Hostile aliens explicitly seek to destroy humanity’s Reincarnation Land, believing that removing reincarnation would leave the race without roots or a future threat 264.
  • The Eight Desolations Heavenly Tower intercepts ten human prodigy souls each month. Most are originally comparable to Human Holy Bodies, though their aptitude can change after reincarnation 225.

Cloudbound Mecha Cultivation

Cloudbound humans cultivate with mechs fused into their genes. When Li Yue raises their potential with Prototype Dao Pool Water, their genetic locks open and their embedded mechs evolve alongside their cultivation 1517.

Order Cloudbound Equivalent
Nineteenth Quasi-Emperor 1517
Twentieth Red Dust Great Emperor 1517
Twenty-First Dao-Merging Great Emperor 1517
Twenty-Second Chaos Great Emperor 1517
Twenty-Third Quasi-Immortal King 1517

Relationship with the Divine Path

Faith and Protection

The Divine Path is repeatedly described as humanity’s firmest ally. Belief in a deity does not erase a believer’s human identity, unlike joining factions that require humans to abandon that identity 419 613.

  • Human believers provide exceptional Incense Wish Power. A Grade A human believer provides Li Yue with one hundred strands daily—equivalent to one hundred similarly graded believers with partial human ancestry or ten thousand true foreign-race believers 434.
  • Divine governance supports cultivation and survival. A registered Fortune County City increases human cultivation speed by fifty percent and doubles food production 147.
  • Human suffering can damage the Divine Path. Sufficiently extensive human blood sacrifices create Resentment of the Human Path, a backlash against divinity for failing to protect humanity 834.
  • The alliance is reciprocal. Li Yue describes faith in exchange for safety and peace as a symbiotic relationship, rejecting the Human Ancestor’s accusation that he merely herds humans 721.

Notable Relationships

  • Li Yue / Eternal God Lord — Protector and benefactor. He retains his human identity despite becoming a deity and intervenes even for humans outside his faith 279 835.
  • Wei Xiangyang — A deceased official whose merit preserves his soul. He accepts divine service after confirming Li Yue’s commitment to humanity 68.
  • Yuan / Emperor Abyss — Defender of humanity’s Reincarnation Land; responds to an alien invasion through Li Yue’s warning signal 264 281.
  • Myriad Dao Human Emperor — A central figure of the Human Emperor Era whose surviving followers and intelligence networks continue supporting human interests 544.
  • Wang Dali and Zhou Qingshan — Human Great Emperors who agree to help Li Yue wage war against the Heavenly Clan 544.
  • Di Xin — Human Emperor who warns Li Yue about the struggle for Fate and gives him a legacy after the Peak Divine Path Grand Assembly 887.
  • Zhou Zongyuan — Cloudbound humanity’s chairman and Speaker, later its first native Quasi-Transcender 1517 1526.
  • Li Yuanshan / Yuan Mountain — Recruited Origin Lifeform and Quasi-Transcender who joins humanity and helps misdirect its enemies 1524 1525.
  • Ran Min — Ancient defender who returns to support the tenth Fortune Dynasty; Li Yue restores part of his strength with a Five-Heart Origin Pill 1052 1055.

Enemies & Internal Threats

Predation and Betrayal

  • Demonic Creatures enslave humans and consume their flesh, blood, and souls. Some deliberately teach human populations that they exist to become demon food 86 204.
  • Human traitors may serve demons, organize the exploitation of their own people, or abandon their bloodline to acquire demonic bodies 86 204.
  • The Lord of Juntian City, revered as the “Light of Humanity,” secretly sacrifices 5.33 million martial artists and personally consumes another 4.67 million over 320 years 338.
  • The Heavenly Clan originates from powerful beings who separated from humanity. It later becomes one of humanity’s greatest enemies and participates in the siege of the Human Emperor 162.
  • The Immortal, Dao, and Buddha Clans have predominantly human main lineages, but their members abandon their human identity upon joining 613.
  • The Human Ancestor manipulates humanity’s prosperity and decline while stealing the Human Path’s fortune. Li Yue destroys him in the Four Symbols Forbidden Land 719 720 721.

Wider Racial Conflict

  • Blood Sea and Nether Mist Clans seize formerly human-populated worlds and enslave their inhabitants after the Human Emperor Era 671.
  • Yang Demon Saint, Silver Horn Royal, Blood God, and Sinking Clans openly threaten human cultivators at Green Feather Mountain. The Sword Demon and White Qilin Saint Clans remain neutral 410.
  • Hostile Dimension-level aliens admit participating in repeated sieges against humanity’s strongest figures. Some justify their actions by accusing Jiang Emperor of making their reproduction vastly harder 1399.
  • Saint Demon Race and Void Lifeforms are major enemies in the later history of the Pangu Dimension 1020 1055.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Liberation Under Lord Zhangyue

Li Yue’s early territory contrasts with surrounding lands where humans are treated as livestock. After Li Youming destroys the Seven Great Demon Factions, Tianlin Prefecture’s human leaders celebrate the end of their people’s exploitation as demon fodder 86 174.

As Li Yue’s jurisdiction expands, he publicly promises protection to believers and destruction for man-eating demons and Evil Specters. Later, he exposes Juntian City’s ruler and eliminates him together with more than ten thousand human traitors 204 338.

Restoration of Historical Experts

Li Yue travels to the Human Way Great World and retrieves fallen human powerhouses from the River of Time. Hundreds of millions return to life, restoring experts from multiple high-level cultivation ranks 760.

Primordial Universe Campaign

In another Primordial Universe, humanity is already one of twelve Peak Clans but is surrounded by five hostile peers: the Kun, Intellect Brain, Angel, Devil, and Heavenly Crystal Races. Territorial competition is especially important because larger territories and proximity to the universe’s center favor the birth of more geniuses 804.

Li Yue and the Eternal Divine Court annihilate those five enemies and assist humanity in occupying their territories. The mission nevertheless distinguishes territorial gains obtained through outside intervention from humanity genuinely becoming the universe’s supreme race 807 808.

Cloudbound World Revival

Cloudbound humanity has endured more than a thousand cycles of destruction and rebirth. Yuan Mountain reports that, after an ancient catastrophe associated with a human expert, the surviving Peak Clans persecuted humanity. The Spirit Clan surveils it and arranges exterminations every hundred thousand years, deliberately preserving enough survivors to rebuild 1517 1523.

Li Yue supplies cultivation resources, raises the alliance leaders’ potential, and accelerates time at a thousand-to-one ratio. Humanity builds powerful border defenses, defeats surrounding enemies, and conceals its expanding strength. When the Spirit Clan envoy Mo Huo attacks Immortal Pass, its defensive formation kills him without requiring Li Yue’s direct intervention 1517 1520 1521.

After accelerated development ends, the four Peak Clans launch a combined assault. Li Yue suppresses their forces and imposes a 100,000-year truce. Cloudbound World’s Origin Will then recognizes humanity as a Peak Clan, although Li Yue judges that it still needs further development 1526 1527.

Willing Blue Great World

The Merck Race attempts to force humanity to abandon Li Yue and worship its invaders instead. Li Yue destroys the attackers, and belief in him rises from roughly twenty percent to more than ninety percent of the world’s population 1554.

Human witnesses subsequently watch his annihilation of the Merck Race, deepening their devotion. The conflict escalates when he kills a Xiyu Race envoy and chooses to confront that race rather than merely withstand its counterattacks 1555 1556.

— Li Yue 68

“The Human Race offers me faith and belief, and I safeguard their safety and ensure their peace. It is the most simple and honest of transactions.”
— Li Yue 721

“May our Human Race remain eternal and undying.”
