Background / History
Origins Across Different Cosmological Settings
The accounts of humanity’s origins are presented at different cosmological scales.
| Setting | Account |
|---|---|
| All Heavens and Myriad Worlds | The Life God and Devil Yu Ti created humanity in the ancient era. The Source of All Worlds subsequently caused humans to evolve naturally in countless worlds, rather than spreading solely through migration 630. |
| Endless Void | Nuwa formed the earliest humans by kneading clay and is described as the mother of humanity throughout the Endless Void 911. |
| Three Thousand Dimensions | Humanity arose because the dimensions’ rules were influenced by the Source Dao Sea. Humans also exist beyond the Three Thousand Dimensions, where they are a Pinnacle great race 1401. |
Ancient Subjugation and the Martial Path
Under the Immortal Clan’s ancient rule, ordinary humans existed primarily to produce descendants with Immortal Cultivation Spiritual Roots. Those who entered immortal cultivation joined the Immortal Clan, while ordinary humans remained subordinate across generations and reincarnations 491.
Human ancestors gradually developed the Martial Path. Natural-born Martial Gods gathered and perfected existing teachings and were honored as Martial Ancestors. The Origin Divine Court broke the Immortal Clan’s supremacy, allowing ordinary humans to grow stronger and humanity to separate from the Immortal Clan 709.
Human Emperors and Subsequent Decline
Humanity rose repeatedly before the Human Emperor Era. That era produced eight Human Emperors, each described as having suppressed the world and swept across rival races during their lifetime 128.
After the era ended, the Demonic Creature, Heavenly, Earth, Immortal, Buddha, Dao, Blood Sea, and Nether Mist Clans besieged humanity. Three of its six great imperial courts were destroyed; the remaining three survived with much of their authority divided among the Immortal, Dao, and Buddha Clans 613.
The Blood Sea and Nether Mist Clans seized worlds populated during humanity’s earlier expansion and enslaved their inhabitants 671.
Liberation Under Li Yue
In the Great Zhou region, demons treated humans as livestock and cultivated human collaborators. Some collaborators abandoned their human bloodlines, transformed into demons, and consumed their former kin 86 204.
Li Yue’s protection began locally at Four Seas Town and expanded into prefecture-wide intervention. Tianlin Prefecture was freed from the Seven Great Demon Factions, and millions of tiger-demon victims were purified and sent into reincarnation 68 174 203.
Divine governance also exposed human authorities who had concealed exploitation behind claims of protecting humanity. The destruction of Juntian City’s ruler was followed by Li Xiudao’s interim administration and the introduction of Lord Zhangyue’s faith 338.
The Human Ancestor’s Manipulation
The Human Ancestor secretly influenced both humanity’s prosperity and its decline. Li Yue discovered that this figure manipulated the race’s fortunes and stole the luck of the Human Path 719 721.
Li Yue rejected the Human Ancestor’s comparison between divine protection and “herding” humans, then killed him and annihilated the Four Symbols Forbidden Land 721.
Supremacy in Another Primordial Universe
Li Yue entered another Primordial Universe with 523,600 Deities and contacted humanity’s leadership. There, humanity was one of twelve Peak Clans, fighting five hostile neighboring clans over territory and the universe’s favor 801 804.
The Eternal Divine Court destroyed the Kun, Intellect Brain, Angel, Devil, and Heavenly Crystal Races. Humanity occupied their territories, after which Li Yue used his authority as a human-origin Supreme Dominator to secure recognition from the remaining powers 807 808.
Cloudbound World’s Repeated Destruction
According to Yuan Mountain, a catastrophe approximately 160 billion eras earlier killed every Transcender and destroyed nine-tenths of Cloudbound World’s former Peak Clans. An extraordinarily powerful human was alleged to have caused it, although Yuan Mountain did not know why 1523.
The surviving Peak Clans retaliated against humanity. Under Spirit Clan surveillance, humans were massacred every 100,000 years, with survivors deliberately retained so the race could rebuild. Humanity endured more than a thousand cycles of destruction and resurgence 1517 1523.
Li Yue strengthened the Divine Sun Alliance with Dao Pool Water, cultivation resources, and time acceleration. Its leaders developed humanity in secrecy, fortified its borders, and concealed its strength through misleading intelligence and proxy conflict 1517 1522 1525.
After the time barrier vanished, the Spirit, Blood, Origin, and God Clans attacked together. Li Yue suppressed their combined army and prohibited further hostilities for 100,000 years. Humanity gained Peak Clan recognition, but its survival still required continued development 1526 1527 1528.
Biology & Bloodlines
- Ordinary bloodlines: Individually weak, but supported by exceptional reproductive capacity. Their vast population repeatedly produces outstanding geniuses and forms humanity’s demographic foundation 453.
- High-grade bloodlines: Greater inherited potential comes with reduced reproductive ability—a rule applying throughout All Worlds 453.
- Cultivation inheritance: A parent’s higher cultivation can transform descendants’ bloodlines. Great Emperor descendants retain exceptional bloodlines even after tens of thousands of generations 453.
- Eight Desolations humans: Possess particularly high-grade bloodlines and broadly formidable potential 453.
- Evil God World humans: Have bloodlines distinct from ordinary humanity and somewhat greater potential 453.
- Cloudbound humans: Carry a trace of the ancient Dao Fusion expert’s bloodline, which Li Yue associates with their extraordinary cultivation speed 1526.
- Human-derived races: Ancient unions between humans and other races produced Fox-People, Ox-Head People, Horse-Face People, Goshawk People, and similar clans 434.
- Regional differentiation: Long-settled populations in the Great Zhen Imperial Court develop altered characteristics and identify as Elffolk, Junglefolk, or Divine Descendants 1380.
Abilities & Skills
Martial Cultivation
The Martial Path allows humans to cultivate independently of the Immortal Clan. Its environmental requirements can severely limit advancement: in the Great Zhou Imperial Dynasty’s 13,000-year history, only two Tenth-Order experts appeared apart from an exceptional Human Holy Body rumored to have reached the Thirteenth Order 205 709.
| Order | Documented Human Martial Realm / Title |
|---|---|
| Fourth | Yin-Yang Realm; Grandmaster 185 |
| Fifth | Grotto-Heaven Realm; Grand Martial Master 65 |
| Sixth | Dharma Image Realm; True Person / True Human 65 338 |
| Seventh | Daoist 338 |
| Eighth | True Lord 261 264 |
| Ninth | King 264 |
| Tenth | Divine Platform Realm 205 |
| Eleventh | Dao Severing Realm 205 |
| Twelfth | Self-Existence Realm 205 |
| Thirteenth | Holy Lord Realm 205 |
| Fifteenth | Reflection Realm 410 |
- The Divine Platform Realm establishes a Divine Platform in the sea of consciousness 205.
- Dao Severing replaces the cultivator’s old Dao with a new one; Self-Existence emphasizes supremacy and conviction in defeating enemies 205.
- The fastest recorded Fifth-Order Limit to Sixth-Order Limit advancement in Li Yue’s initial world took thirty-five years. Li Yue later notes that breakthroughs in secret realms might escape the world’s records 65 127.
Special Physiques
Humanity possesses Nine Great War Bodies, which are only the initial stages of its special physiques. Named examples include the Ascension, Hundred Calamity, and Undying War Bodies 149.
- War Bodies can evolve further; each retains a slight possibility of becoming a Holy Body 149.
- Li Xiuwu’s Ascension War Body makes him a target for demons hoping to advance by consuming him 86.
- Qin Wange is born with a Human Race Holy Body and is expected to surpass the King realm 185.
- Liu Mingxu possesses Innate Holy Pupils, another exceptional inherited trait 185.
Humanity Merit
The Human Dao grants Humanity Merit, also called Human Dao Merit, to those who contribute to the Human Race 67.
- Merit can protect a soul after death, as demonstrated by Wei Xiangyang 68.
- It can reduce the Divine Law Fragments needed for divine investiture 68.
- Through reincarnation, accumulated merit can become greater potential in the next life. Li Yue identifies this transformation in Zhou Qingyi and Chu Hongyi 185.
- Talent does not guarantee future achievement; Li Yue emphasizes the continuing importance of opportunities 185.
Faith and the Divine Path
Human faith provides unusually strong Incense Wish Power, making humanity the principal foundation of divine cultivation 434.
| Grade A Believer | Daily Incense Wish Power |
|---|---|
| Human | 100 strands 434 |
| Foreign race with human blood | 1 strand 434 |
| True foreign race | Approximately one ten-thousandth of a human believer’s output 434 |
- Divine faith preserves human self-identification, unlike joining clans that require abandoning it 613.
- Divine protection and cultivated believers repeatedly leave humanity stronger after a Deity Era ends 323 419.
- Resentment of the Human Path can arise from sufficiently vast human blood sacrifices and inflict backlash on the Divine Path. Hostile Immortal Kings exploit this connection 834 835.
- The Saint Martial Emperor cautions that a dominant Divine Path could reduce a weakened Human Path to a subordinate position, despite their intended complementary relationship 222.
Cloudbound Cultivation and Racial Growth
Cloudbound World uses the following documented high-order equivalents:
| Order | Equivalent |
|---|---|
| Nineteenth | Quasi-Emperor 1517 |
| Twentieth | Red Dust Great Emperor 1517 |
| Twenty-First | Dao-Merging Great Emperor 1517 |
| Twenty-Second | Chaos Great Emperor 1517 |
| Twenty-Third | Quasi-Immortal King 1517 |
- Human cultivation can unlock genetic locks and evolve mechs fused within the cultivator’s genes 1517.
- Advances among the alliance’s leaders strengthen its Life Stars through Cloudbound World’s racial advancement laws 1517.
- Zhou Zongyuan’s rise to Quasi-Transcendence draws on the race’s collective will and fortune 1526.

- Humanity’s 360 principal great worlds are not the limit of its distribution: humans also inhabit many other great, middle, and small worlds 453 630.
