The Heavenly Emperor happened to come across quite a few of them. He devoured some survivors with the Devouring Dao and obtained their memories.
The reason he knew of Calamity was that Calamity had once experienced love. But after Calamity betrayed Dominator City, he severed all ties with his former lover.
Now that the calamity had passed, Calamity believed that person had already perished.
Yet in truth, Calamity's former lover had survived, only to be devoured by the Heavenly Emperor and stripped of their memories.
It was through those memories that the Heavenly Emperor learned of Calamity.
The Heavenly Emperor knew that Calamity had summoned the cosmic calamity ahead of time, causing the entire Heaven-Bearing Universe to shatter and nearly be destroyed.
However, Calamity had only been at the tenth level of the Supreme Realm back then. Though incomparably powerful, he did not possess such capability. To summon the cosmic calamity early, he must have paid an immense price.
Originally, when the Heavenly Emperor saw Calamity's Supreme Dao, he assumed that the price was the calamity's power descending upon the Dao.
