Mu Qing parted his lips, feeling quite surprised. Why had those two monsters run away?

He turned to glance at the humanoid monster behind him, now covered in cracks, and froze for a moment. Then he guessed—could it be that the Eight-Tailed White Tiger and the lanternfish had seen his bloodline absorb the decaying power within its body and mistakenly assumed that he had killed this humanoid monster?

After thinking it over, Mu Qing found that this seemed to be the only explanation. No wonder those two monsters had looked at him with such fear and wariness before turning around and fleeing.

He let out a huge sigh of relief. Good thing they had misunderstood. Otherwise, things would have become serious; whether he could have escaped at all would have been hard to say.

What Mu Qing could be certain of was that those bizarre monsters came from the same race. Although they had fought one another to the death earlier for the chance to enter Doushuai Palace first, once they faced Mu Qing, they would absolutely join forces first and eliminate him!
