Background / History

The Heavenly Court was founded by the Old Heavenly Emperor, described as the universe's first Supreme and its strongest early cultivator. In its golden age, all immortals belonged to the Heavenly Court; its people were ancient humans who, after growing stronger, came to be known as the Immortal Clan. It stood as the universe's foremost supreme faction, with the Demon Race as the only known power able to contend with it on equal terms. 826 1056 2088

Its prosperity declined after the Old Heavenly Emperor vanished. The current Heavenly Emperor succeeded him, and a vast portion of the Heavenly Court's former strength later separated to form the Ancient Immortal Realm. By Yin Tian's assessment, the modern Heavenly Court retained less than one-tenth of its peak strength despite still ranking among the universe's strongest factions. 744 856 975

The Heavenly Court nevertheless retained formidable foundations: Great Emperor-level forces, supreme artifacts, a system of three palaces, and research programs backed by the Demon Clan. Its expansionist policies, manipulation of subordinate factions, and experimentation with immortal, divine, and Devil Race powers made it a central threat to the Ancient Immortal Realm and other powers. 719 863 868

The Heavenly Emperor's Jade Seal is a supreme artifact and one of the Heavenly Court's principal trump cards.

• It subdued three Great Emperor-level Giant Dragon wraiths in Dragon Graveyard, whose former allegiance to the Heavenly Court compelled them to submit. 860

Lunar Palace operation

The Heavenly Court covertly directed the rebellion against Lunar Palace through the Demon Guild, Asura Guild, and Evil Clan. After the Moon God's defeat, the Heavenly Emperor withdrew with these forces and used five Great Emperor-level heavenly dragons to retrieve a jade coffin implied to contain the Moon God's corpse. 719 723

Dragon Graveyard war

The Heavenly Court entered Dragon Graveyard seeking the White-Bone Skeleton linked to the Ancient Immortal Realm. It forced the Technology Alliance to lead the advance through the corpse qi and resentful souls, then countered the Dragon Graveyard's wraiths with the Heavenly Emperor's Jade Seal. 846 849 860

The Ancient Immortal Realm's ambush inflicted substantial losses, but the Heavenly Court shifted its priorities to preserve Bai Duanhun after his Devil Race transformation. Gu Feng and several Emperors defended him through consecutive Great Emperor tribulations, allowing him to reach the lower third-tier Great Emperor realm before the surviving forces retreated. 864 865 866

Expansion into the ten realms

The Heavenly Court dispatched one hundred thousand elite Divine Emperor-level heavenly soldiers, led by the Heaven-Suppressing Emperor, to attack Earth in pursuit of a suspected Extreme Rank expert. The operation was interrupted by the Supreme Saint's awakening and intervention. 1137 1140

Later, the Heavenly Court consolidated the Heavenly Realm through the submission of its top races and occupied Tai Ning Realm after the Buddhist Sect's collapse. 2058

Annihilation Sea conflict

During its prolonged war with the Ancient Immortal Realm, the Heavenly Court established a dense network of outposts, patrols, formations, and research facilities in the Annihilation Sea. Outpost Eighteen contained Demon Clan experiments on captured Annihilation Sea beasts and was guarded by unusually capable Heavenly Pride-level Divine Emperors. 2062 2065
