Background

Tom Marvolo Riddle was born in 1926 to a mother descended from Salazar Slytherin and a Muggle father. He grew up in a Muggle orphanage before entering Hogwarts in 1938, where he was sorted into Slytherin, became a prefect, and later served as Head Boy. 93

He later adopted the identity of Voldemort and built the Death Eaters around blood-purity ideology. Avada, Baron, and Harry lure Voldemort into a prepared trap. The spell extracts Voldemort's soul from Quirrell into a black crystal ball, but Voldemort kills Quirrell and discards half of his already diminished soul to escape. 87 88 89

The Diary Fragment and Horcrux Conflict
