Orochimaru was still in shock, but Hiroki wasn't satisfied.

It consumed too much chakra.

This newly modified jutsu required 1,400 units of chakra.

At the moment, Hiroki only had 3,200 units of chakra. That meant he could use this jutsu at most twice. Judging by its power against the wooden post, this Wind Release didn't seem much better than Vacuum Sphere.

The chakra-disrupting effect of Noise Wave hadn't shown itself, either.

And Wind Style: Vacuum Sphere consumed far less chakra than the newly modified jutsu—only 400 units per shot. That meant that for the foreseeable future, his main attacks would probably still be close-range Brain Overload and long-range Vacuum Sphere.

The new jutsu still wasn't complete. At the very least, it couldn't serve as his primary attack.

If only he had a giant power bank.

Hiroki pursed his lips. Why couldn't creating a new jutsu work like a game, where every new skill was guaranteed to be stronger than the old one?

Even some kind of advantage would've been nice!

Orochimaru stopped watching Hiroki.

He'd known about Hiroki's unusual abilities before they left the village. Of the three children, Hiroki had always been the most talented and shown the most potential.

But Nawaki was Tsunade's younger brother, and Kushina was a candidate to become the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. Neither of them had much less potential than Hiroki; they simply needed more training.

Once they'd matured a little, they'd improve considerably.

As he kept watch on their surroundings, Orochimaru weighed their options.

He'd originally planned to venture deep into the Land of Rain and gather more intelligence, but things had changed.

They could now be almost certain that Rain Ninja had indeed appeared in their territory. Their numbers and the scale of their operations, however, far exceeded the Third's initial assessment.
