"AH-63 Apache Attack Helicopter, soldier, stop flying immediately. Land on the ground and submit to inspection."
A communication voice sounded inside the helicopter.
The green forest was close at hand. Ba Di did not answer and continued flying the helicopter toward the Snake River.
They were currently at an altitude of around 1,500 meters, still about eighteen kilometers from the Snake River.
The AH-63 Apache Attack Helicopter had an M230 300mm Chain Gun mounted beneath its nose and two Anti-Tank Missiles suspended from its short wings.
This Apache Attack Helicopter was not yet the AH-64, the helicopter that would later rank first among armed helicopters in the world. It was merely its earlier model.
Its armaments were also much fewer. The only weapons capable of contending with a fighter jet were its two Anti-Tank Missiles. If they hit, good. If they missed, he was likely finished.
The Chain Gun would probably gain no advantage against an Eagle Fighter Jet. Firing into empty air would be perfectly normal.
AH-63 Apache Attack Helicopter, maximum speed: 265 kilometers per hour.
F-15 Eagle Fighter, maximum speed: 1,482 kilometers per hour.
With a sevenfold speed gap, the Eagle Fighter Jet could practically circle around him dozens of times, then use its M61A1 Vulcan Cannon to turn the Apache Attack Helicopter into a sieve. The helicopter would have no way of dealing with it.
Not to mention that the Eagle Fighter Jet also carried a considerable number of AIM-7 Sparrow air-to-air missiles, AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles, and AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles.
Ba Di furrowed his brow, calculating nonstop as he watched the Eagle Fighter Jet closing in on the radar at 1,028 kilometers per hour. His eyes flickered.
The F-15 Eagle Fighter screamed in from behind like a sharp blade, leaving a white trail across the sky.
In the blink of an eye, the Eagle Fighter Jet had reached the airspace above the Apache Attack Helicopter. It swept past him, dove in a wide circle through the sky ahead, then charged straight at the Apache Attack Helicopter while issuing another warning over the radio.
"Warning, AH-63 Apache Attack Helicopter. Report your soldier identification number. Land and submit to inspection, or I will open fire and shoot you down."
The voice over the communication channel barked out the command harshly. It had clearly sensed that something was wrong with the helicopter.
Ba Di swept a glance across the verdant forest ahead before fixing his gaze on the Eagle Fighter Jet.
Ba Di decisively pulled back and tilted the control stick, adjusted the collective pitch lever and rotor blades, then fired the Chain Gun.
The Apache Attack Helicopter tilted upward and flew diagonally like a dragonfly. The 300mm Chain Gun beneath its nose spun wildly, erupting with deafening noise as streams of flame spat frantically across the sky.
The fighter pilot was clearly highly experienced. He kept his aircraft above the helicopter's 300mm Chain Gun. The instant the helicopter raised its nose, he pulled the fighter upward, and the Chain Gun's fiery barrage shot beneath its belly.
At the same time, he did not hesitate. The rotary barrels of the Eagle Fighter Jet's M61A1 Vulcan Cannon spun up, erupting with fire. The cannon barrage, firing over five thousand rounds per minute, grazed past the helicopter's nose. The first few rounds barely brushed the helicopter before the endless stream of bullets tore into the ground, carving a long line of destruction through the green forest. Mud sprayed, leaves flew, and trees toppled.
A path of destruction was instantly blasted through the forest.
Ba Di felt the fuselage shudder slightly. Bullets had grazed the helicopter's nose, leaving several deep, scorching gouges in the metal. Fortunately, when he fired, Ba Di had already calculated the fighter jet's firing trajectory and evaded in advance. Otherwise, that volley would have blown the helicopter apart.
Neither side gained an advantage from that exchange, but it confirmed to the fighter pilot that the helicopter Ba Di was flying belonged to the enemy. Ba Di had no intention of hiding it anyway. Once he reached the forest, he could carry out what he had planned. There was no need for further nonsense.
The Eagle Fighter Jet rose and vanished in front of him. Ba Di's eyes flashed.
He directly pulled open the cockpit door. The violent high-altitude wind instantly surged inside, and after the helicopter jolted from the disrupted airflow, he steadily regained control of its flight.
The Eagle Fighter Jet's engine was louder than the howling wind at high altitude. Its flight path pointed the way in Ba Di's ears, clearer than anything his eyes could see.
The Eagle Fighter Jet climbed and flipped through the air like a swallow, directly rolling above and behind the helicopter. Its M61A1 Vulcan Cannon spun up again and spewed fire, shooting all the way across the ground and spraying mud, trees, and green leaves like splashing waves as it carved out another destructive path of fallen trees.
Yet Ba Di had already controlled the helicopter into a diagonal climb to evade the moment it rolled over and prepared to fire straight ahead.
After several conventional fighter strafing runs failed to hit the helicopter despite carving multiple paths of destruction into the ground, the Eagle Fighter Jet clearly changed its strategy. It stopped using its cannon and flew farther away.
As though he knew exactly what the fighter jet was about to do, Ba Di controlled the helicopter with all his strength, climbing at its maximum speed of sixteen meters per second. That speed was utterly incomparable to a fighter jet's.
The gap in every aspect was as vast as the sky itself. Being able to evade the aircraft cannon fire had already shocked the Eagle Fighter Jet's pilot.
What could a helicopter use to fight a fighter jet? They were fundamentally two different types of aircraft.
Fighter jets had always dominated aerial combat. They flew high, flew fast, moved nimbly, possessed excellent maneuverability, advanced detection equipment, and complete weapon systems. They had been born for air combat.
Attack helicopters, on the other hand, were designed to strike ground targets. Destroying armored formations was their specialty. Their speed, altitude, and maneuverability were all inferior to fighter jets—vastly inferior.
So Ba Di had never intended to truly fight the Eagle Fighter Jet with the helicopter.
The Eagle Fighter Jet made a wide turn and returned to high altitude behind the helicopter. Two missiles trailing flames launched from its fuselage and streaked toward the continuously climbing helicopter.
A fierce glint flashed through Ba Di's eyes. His hands and feet moved together, operating the throttle, cyclic pitch stick, collective pitch lever, and pedals in a rapid, seamless sequence.
In an instant, the helicopter seemed like a bird braking abruptly in midair. It tilted backward and rose, exposing its belly.
The 300mm Chain Gun fired continuously. Then two more missiles launched from the wings toward the sky above the Eagle Fighter Jet, seeming to have missed and veered away from the target.
The Chain Gun accurately detonated the incoming missiles in midair.
That entire sequence left the Eagle Fighter Jet's pilot so stunned that he could only cry out to God.
Who could control a helicopter like a bird? And the Chain Gun had directly shot down two air-to-air missiles. That level of precision was utterly astounding.
Moreover, from a tactical standpoint, the two missiles he had fired were not truly wasted. The Eagle Fighter Jet's pilot believed they were intended to force him down from high altitude to receive the Chain Gun's fire. Of course, there was no chance of it hitting. How could a fighter jet possibly be struck so easily by a helicopter?
Yet the Apache Attack Helicopter had accomplished one impossible feat after another, leaving him utterly stunned.
As a pilot himself, he knew how difficult it was.
It was impossible!!!
"My God! Who are you? Who are you?? Just who are you??"
Forced down by the missiles overhead, the Eagle Fighter Jet easily turned, evaded the helicopter's Chain Gun fire, and flew beneath the helicopter.
The Eagle Fighter Jet's pilot continued shouting in shock, repeatedly crying out to God.
That kind of maneuver was simply impossible to achieve with a helicopter. How could anyone possibly control one like that?
Just as the Eagle Fighter Jet's pilot was overwhelmed with shock.
Suddenly, a black shadow dropped onto the nose of the Eagle Fighter Jet, making the entire aircraft shake violently.
The Eagle Fighter Jet's pilot fiercely yanked the control stick, bringing the aircraft back under control.
Then he saw a tall figure blocking out the sunlight, standing there with a mighty bearing like a Devil God.
Through the transparent cockpit canopy, the pilot stared wide-eyed in shock.
"That's impossible!!!"
