Background

Ba Di was a Kryptonian general whose revolutionary struggle against Krypton's ruling families failed. He escaped Krypton, crashed on Earth, and was taken captive by General Vick's underground research institute in 1981. The institute paralyzed and monitored him with a Pulse Radiofrequency Needle while attempting to exploit his biology and spacecraft technology. 6 14 19 468

During his captivity, Ba Di carefully concealed his capabilities. He used the Kryptonian Meditation Technique to control his physical responses, feigned helplessness, and cultivated Doctor Jenny's affection because her access offered him a route to sunlight and escape. 15 17

After being exposed to sunlight, Ba Di regained control of his body and revealed his Kryptonian powers.
