Atkins did not live in the City Lord's Mansion.
After Linley and Doehring left the City Lord's Mansion, an elderly man with silver hair and an earth-yellow robe came forward to greet them.
"You two must be Captain Linley and Captain Doehring?"
The silver-haired old man smiled as he greeted Linley and Doehring.
"My name is Bernas, Lord Atkins's steward. Lord Atkins is waiting for you at his residence. Please follow me."
With that, the silver-haired old man led the way.
Linley and Doehring exchanged a glance before ultimately following him.
Atkins's residence was not far from the City Lord's Mansion. It was also quite spacious, with two Mid-Gods standing guard outside.
Upon seeing Bernas, the two Mid-Gods hurried forward to greet him. Bernas merely nodded slightly.
Linley and Doehring followed him into the residence and eventually met Atkins in the rear courtyard.
When Linley and Doehring arrived, Atkins was holding a female Saint-level warrior in his arms.
Atkins wore a golden robe and looked no more than sixteen or seventeen. A faint smile still rested on his face.
"You two are Linley and Doehring?" Atkins took a sip of the wine the female Saint-level warrior brought to his lips. "My name is Atkins. I am your superior. From now on, I will arrange your patrol duties. Do you understand?"
"Understood!"
Linley and Doehring nodded slightly.
However, they were both somewhat puzzled.
Had he summoned them here merely to say this?
Wasn't that making a mountain out of a molehill?
"This is Lord Bluefire's city. Lord Bluefire has many things to deal with every day."
Atkins continued.
"So if anything happens in the city in the future, just report it directly to me. There is no need to disturb Lord Bluefire. Do you understand?"
