The graduation requirement for the Ernst Magic Institute is to reach the sixth rank as a mage.
Therefore, although they only recruit one hundred students each year, the total number of students within the Ernst Magic Institute is quite large.
Some students are even decades old, yet they remain at the institute.
It is not that their strength is insufficient, but rather that the resources at the Ernst Magic Institute are superior; staying for one more year means being able to sponge off those resources for one more year.
Consequently, the number of dormitories throughout the Ernst Magic Institute is also quite high.
Small, independent courtyards are arranged in neat rows, and Linley and Reynolds are busy searching for their dormitory.
"Slow down, slow down! Put all those things inside the room for me."
Just as Linley and Reynolds arrived at the entrance of the dormitory, they heard someone speaking in the courtyard.
Although Linley had only spent one day with Yale, he still recognized his voice.
"Yale!" Linley pushed the door open and walked in to see Yale directing his servants to move items. "You actually arrived earlier than me."
"Linley!" Yale looked excited when he saw Linley. "I arrived early this morning. And who is this?"
"Hello, my name is Reynolds. I am eight years old and from the O'Brien Empire." Reynolds spoke up to greet Yale. "Do you and Linley know each other?"
"We met during the Magic Test half a year ago." Yale wore a smile. "Linley is nine, you are eight, and I am the oldest at ten."
Yale appeared somewhat proud, while Reynolds stared at the two of them with a hint of resentment.
Not only were they older than him, but they were also significantly taller.
Linley was the tallest, already nearly one point eight meters, while Yale was only a head shorter than Linley, standing at about one point six meters.
Reynolds, however, was only one point five meters tall.
Still, this was appropriate for his age; Linley and Yale were both developing ahead of the curve.
"It looks like I am the last one to arrive." Just as the three were chatting, a crisp voice rang out from outside the dormitory door. "My name is George. I am ten years old and from the Yulan Empire. Hello, everyone."
A youth about the same height as Reynolds walked in from outside the door to greet the three of them.
"The Yulan Empire?" Yale looked at George with a strange expression. "Although the magic institute in the Yulan Empire is not as good as the Ernst Magic Institute, the difference isn't that great. Why would you travel across the continent to come here?"
"The Ernst is the best magic institute, after all." George smiled, carrying himself with the air of a little adult. "Have you guys seen the geniuses enrolled this year? I originally thought Dixie from our empire was the strongest genius, but I didn't expect there to be someone even more monstrous than him."
George's words caused both Yale and Reynolds to look at Linley with amused expressions.
George quickly noticed the strange atmosphere in the small courtyard.
"What's wrong?" George looked at the three of them, puzzled. "Did I say something wrong?"
"Hahahaha!" Reynolds burst into laughter. "George, let me formally introduce you to the number one genius of the Ernst Magic Institute: Linley, who possesses dual Earth and Wind affinity and a spiritual energy sixty-nine times that of an ordinary person."
Reynolds's string of introductions left George stunned in place.
"Alright, George, don't listen to Reynolds's nonsense about being the number one genius." Linley waved his hand. "I just have a bit more talent; the path of cultivation isn't just about talent."
After his strength had increased, Linley had absolutely no interest in competing for the title of number one genius at the Ernst Magic Institute.
"You are that legendary genius who was taken as a disciple by a ninth-rank mage?" George finally reacted, looking at Linley in astonishment. "What rank of mage are you now?"
As George's words fell, before Linley could speak, Reynolds reacted first.
"Linley, you were actually taken as a disciple by a ninth-rank mage?" Reynolds looked at Linley in disbelief. "A ninth-rank mage! That is only one step away from the Saint-level."
"Your information is already outdated." Yale tilted his head slightly, a smile on his face. "Linley's teacher is already preparing to break through to the Saint-level. Perhaps in a few years, Linley will have a Saint-level teacher."
"Alright, alright." Seeing this, Linley quickly spoke up. "Stop bragging on my behalf. My teacher is currently in seclusion, which is why he sent me to the institute."
Reynolds remained curious and asked, "Then Linley, what rank of mage are you now?"
This time, George and Yale also looked at Linley with anticipation.
"A fifth-rank mage. However, my teacher is only an Earth Element mage, so I only know Earth Element magic."
"Fifth rank?"
Hearing Linley's answer, Yale, Reynolds, and George all exclaimed in surprise.
"My god!" Reynolds looked up at the sky. "The graduation requirement for the Ernst Magic Institute is only a sixth-rank mage. That means, Linley, you could graduate in just a few years?"
"It's not that simple." George was a bit calmer. "The further a mage progresses, the harder it is to break through. For an average person, going from a fifth-rank mage to a sixth-rank mage takes over ten years. Even for a genius like Linley, it would probably take seven or eight years, right?"
As he spoke, George looked at Linley, and Linley nodded in agreement. "That's right. I definitely won't be graduating anytime soon."
"That's true." Yale chimed in from the side. "Linley's teacher breaking through to the Saint-level will take anywhere from three to five years, or perhaps twenty to thirty. We will still be able to spend a long time together."
With that, Yale dismissed the servants he had brought and looked at the three of them. "Since the four brothers are meeting for the first time, how about we get together for a meal in a bit?"
"No problem, my treat." Linley nodded. "Order whatever you want to eat."
Reynolds and George wanted to say something, but Yale interrupted them directly. "Don't worry, you two. This guy is truly loaded. He has quite a few eighth-rank Magic Beast cores on him; you won't be able to eat him into poverty."
Hearing this, George and Reynolds were left speechless.
Eighth-rank Magic Beast cores.
Only a disciple of a ninth-rank mage could bring those out so easily, right?
Although the four brothers had not known each other for long, they hit it off quite well.
Once they arrived at the restaurant, they were already calling each other brothers.
Yale was the oldest, followed by George, then Linley, with Reynolds being the youngest.
As for Beibei, he became the object that Yale and the other two vied to please.
However, among the three, only Reynolds was currently permitted by Beibei to pat his head.
Yale and George were still putting in the effort.
Watching Beibei use his appearance to con people out of food and drink, Linley couldn't help but feel both amused and exasperated.
But Linley didn't expose him either.
After finishing their meal, the four of them familiarized themselves with the environment inside the Ernst Magic Institute.
It wasn't until dusk that they returned to their dormitory.
Except for Linley, Yale, George, and Reynolds all came from prominent families and had already begun meditating and studying magic before enrollment.
And there was no need to mention Linley.
Therefore, after returning to the dormitory, the four of them each went to their own rooms to begin meditating and cultivating.
The living conditions at the Ernst Magic Institute were excellent.
It was a small detached courtyard, and everyone had their own independent room.
The night passed without incident.
Early the next morning, after the four of them attended the entrance ceremony, they received their class schedules.
Linley's affinity for the Fire Element was only medium, so for him, the Fire Element was currently the least important.
As for Earth Element magic, he had Doehring, so he didn't need to attend classes often.
Only for the Wind Element did Linley need to attend class every day.
At four o'clock in the afternoon, Linley arrived at the Wind Element classroom on time and found an empty seat in the front row to sit down.
"Hello, classmate." A soft, sweet voice rang in Linley's ear. "Is anyone sitting here?"
With a bright smile, golden hair, and delicate features, Linley was slightly dazed the moment he saw her, but he quickly recovered.
"No one is here." Linley shook his head slightly. "Feel free to sit."
"Thank you." She gave a sweet smile and sat down beside Linley. "My name is Delia, what about you?"
