After advancing another ten miles or so, Lin Feng finally discovered a vast patch of Blue Heart Grass. The emerald blades swayed with the wind, forming waves of green that made Lin Feng's eyes dazzle.
"Blue Heart Grass, it's all Blue Heart Grass!"
"Beibei, the area within thirty meters of the Blue Heart Grass is completely barren. I can't get over there, so I have to rely on you," Lin Feng communicated with Beibei through their soul connection.
"Boss, just leave it to me, Beibei."
A black blur flashed by, and in the blink of an eye, Beibei darted to the center of the patch. Its small claws moved with nimble, ruthless efficiency, "plundering" the Blue Heart Grass. As its two little paws danced, the central area of the patch became bare in an instant, with a pile of Blue Heart Grass nearly as tall as Beibei's own body accumulating beside it.
"Beibei, that's enough, come back quickly." Seeing that Beibei had already plucked fifty or sixty stalks, Lin Feng urged it.
Beibei looked up at Lin Feng, then wrinkled its cute little nose: "No rush, there's still plenty left."
Just then, a Velociraptor drinking by the river glanced over, its gaze landing on Beibei. The Velociraptor clearly spotted Beibei, and its front limbs, which had been lowered for drinking, straightened up. The Velociraptor stared at Beibei with cold, icy eyes.
"That greedy Beibei, it still got spotted by the Velociraptor."
If Beibei started a fight with this Velociraptor, it might attract other Magic Beasts, which would make the situation dire. There were simply too many Magic Beasts in this valley!
Beibei also noticed the Velociraptor. It immediately looked toward the beast and, appearing terrified, hid beside the pile of Blue Heart Grass, "shivering."
"Roar~" The Velociraptor let out a triumphant cry, then lowered its front limbs again to continue drinking contentedly by the river.
"What a big dummy, it's so easy to trick," Beibei said smugly to Lin Feng via soul transmission.
Lin Feng, however, was left between laughter and tears; he hadn't expected Beibei to be capable of "playing weak." With Beibei's current strength, dealing with a single Velociraptor would be child's play.
"Impressive." Lin Feng gave Beibei a thumbs up.
Beibei smiled complacently: "That goes without saying. I, Beibei, am the smartest Magic Beast mouse." Then, looking at the "small pile" of Blue Heart Grass that was taller than its own body, Beibei's body suddenly expanded, growing from twenty centimeters to nearly half a meter in length.
After increasing in size, Beibei easily scooped the pile of Blue Heart Grass into its arms with its two front paws, then pushed off with its hind legs—whoosh!
Beibei arrived back in the grass, landing directly beside Lin Feng.
"Boss, one hundred and sixty stalks of Blue Heart Grass in total. When I, Beibei, take action, nothing can go wrong." Beibei proudly puffed out its little chest.
Lin Feng dotingly patted Beibei's little head, then placed all the Blue Heart Grass into his Space Ring.
With the Blue Heart Grass in hand, the next step was naturally to head to that underground cavern, slay the Spined Iron-Armored Dragon, drink its fresh blood to awaken the Dragonblood Warrior bloodline within his body, and incidentally, get his hands on the Violet Blood Soft Sword.
Having made up his mind, Lin Feng and Beibei continued forward, sneaking toward the area where the elemental energy of heaven and earth was densest.
As Lin Feng drew closer to the cave entrance, the Magic Beasts he encountered grew stronger—Level 8 Velociraptors, Level 9 Wyverns, and so on. But because Lin Feng had been forewarned, he avoided them early each time and remained undetected.
Looking at the swarms of various Wyverns blanketing the sky above, Lin Feng felt his scalp tingle. "These are all Level 8 and 9 Magic Beasts. I have no idea how the original Lin Feng managed to survive an attack from so many Wyverns."
Suddenly, a massive fireball descended from the sky, hurtling toward Lin Feng.
Sensing danger, Lin Feng looked up abruptly. Watching the fireball grow larger in his vision, only one thought crossed his mind: "I've been discovered!"
Since he had been spotted, Lin Feng stopped hiding. He immediately performed a roll to dodge the fireball's impact and dashed toward the cave entrance. He knew that as long as he reached the cave, he would be safe. Dealing with a single Level 9 Spined Iron-Armored Dragon was far simpler than dealing with a pack of Level 8 and 9 Wyverns.
Lin Feng's wish was beautiful, but reality was cruel. At this moment, he was still at least four or five hundred meters from the entrance. With his current speed as a Level 7 warrior, supplemented by wind-style magic, it would take at least a dozen seconds to reach the cave. While a dozen seconds was short, the group of Wyverns in the sky were no fools; they wouldn't just let Lin Feng run to the cave without interference.
Over a hundred Fire Dragons completely obscured the sky. Dozens of them simultaneously opened their maws—large enough to swallow a person whole—and spat out massive fireballs, raining them down upon Lin Feng.
"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"
Huge fireballs, each as tall as Lin Feng, descended from the sky. The "fireballs" of Level 8 Fire Dragons were not ordinary; they contained not only magic but also the dragon's own dragonflame. The temperature was so high that it would likely crack the armor of a Level 7 Velociraptor.
"Bang!"
A large fireball grazed Lin Feng's body and slammed into the ground nearby. As he fled for his life, Lin Feng immediately caught the scent of singed hair.
"Boss, your hair is burnt." Beibei's voice echoed in Lin Feng's mind.
Lin Feng knew, however, that his hair wasn't actually burnt; the temperature of the fireball was simply so intense that his hair had singed just from being in close proximity.
Lin Feng moved like a nimble monkey, constantly changing directions and dodging the fireballs one after another.
The Fire Dragons didn't swarm him to kill him; instead, they toyed with him, tormenting him with their fireballs.
Lin Feng's forward progress was completely blocked by the fireballs, which whistled toward him in wave after wave, as if they cost nothing.
"Damn it, if I don't show some power, they think I'm a sick cat!"
Lin Feng was furious; the Fire Dragons' mocking tactics had completely enraged him.
"Earth Guardian Sacred Armor, rise!"
Lin Feng waved a hand at the Fire Dragons in the sky, causing earth-yellow magic elements to flow, and roared: "I told you to fly—now all of you, get down here!"
Earth-style magic: Gravity Spell!
"Roar~" "Roar~" "Roar~"
The Wyverns, who had been having a grand time, suddenly felt their bodies grow heavy and began to plummet toward the ground, letting out panicked roars. At the same time, their attacks ceased.
Lin Feng hadn't used the "Gravity Spell" with the intention of bringing the Wyverns down; he only wanted to catch them off guard and buy time for his escape.
"Good chance!"
Seeing the barrage of fireballs stop, Lin Feng immediately pushed his speed to the limit and darted toward the cave entrance, which was now within sight.
"Haha, Boss, I never thought you'd have such a pathetic moment." Beibei's mocking voice echoed in Lin Feng's mind.
"Don't gloat, if you're so capable, you go try it." Lin Feng shot Beibei a glare, his feet never slowing down.
Level 8 and level 9 Wyverns were high-level Magic Beasts after all. Although Lin Feng was a peak level 9 Magus, the area of effect for his Gravity Spell was too wide, making it difficult to achieve the desired results, and this group of Wyverns reacted very quickly.
As level 9 Magic Beasts, the intelligence of the Wyverns was no lower than that of humans. They quickly understood Lin Feng's intentions, and as roars erupted, an even larger wave of fireballs smashed toward Lin Feng.
"Boom!"
A Dragonfire fireball slammed fiercely into Lin Feng's body, then exploded outward. The surface of the Jade Battle Armor on Lin Feng's body flashed with an extreme speed of earthy-yellow light, then with a "bang," it dissipated into a large amount of earth-elemental essence, vanishing without a trace.
You bunch of giant lizards, sooner or later I will come back to settle the score and trample all of you, Lin Feng thought viciously, cursing the unscrupulous Wyverns in his heart.
At this moment, he was not far from the entrance of the cavern. Lin Feng gritted his teeth hard, his speed increasing by another notch. After taking three fireballs head-on, Lin Feng finally succeeded in breaking through to the inside of the cavern.
