Background / History
Lin Feng was born into a poor farming family on Earth. A diligent student and the first person from his village admitted to a key university, he devoted most of his free time to web novels. After failing a China Mobile interview because of a résumé mistake, he was struck by an object from the sky and lost consciousness 1.
He awakened in the body of a child also named Lin Feng, in the world of Coiling Dragon. Initially uncertain whether he had replaced Linley or become an unmentioned relative, he soon recognized Wharton, Hiri, and the Baruch household. He accepted the identity of Lin Feng Baruch to avoid suspicion and gradually came to regard Hogg and Wharton as his genuine family 1 4 6.
While cleaning the ancestral hall, he found the Coiling Dragon Ring and later awakened the soul of the Saint-level Magus Doehring Cowart. Although Lin Feng already knew much of Doehring’s history from the original novel, he concealed that knowledge, gained Doehring’s trust, and began calling him “Grandpa Doehring” 2 3.
Years later, Hongmeng revealed that Lin Feng’s transmigration had been arranged through a meteorite containing a cassia leaf. Lin Feng also learned that his Earth parents died of grief after his disappearance, while his younger sister Lin Ruo reincarnated as his daughter, Baobao 420.
Appearance
Lin Feng is described as sturdy and handsome, with a naturally athletic physique shaped by constant magic and warrior training. His natural hair is brown, though he has changed it to black at times 46 403.
- At ten years old, he was already nearly 1.7 meters tall 110.
- During extended wilderness cultivation, he went barefoot, bare-chested, bearded, and long-haired, taking on the appearance of a wild man 72.
- His Dragonblood transformation produces dark scales, sharp spikes on his back, elbows, and forehead, a dragon tail, and dark-gold pupils; later transformations show a faint cyan radiance within the scales 60.
- His divine clones are commonly distinguished through robes and hair colored for their respective laws: fire-red, earth-yellow, and emerald-green for his Life clone 257.
Personality
Lin Feng is exceptionally driven and pragmatic. From childhood, he trains through pain and exhaustion because he believes strength is necessary to protect his family and eventually return home. He balances ambition with caution, deliberately concealing most of his all-elemental affinity and spiritual power during the Ernst Institute examination to avoid attracting excessive attention 5 8 9.
He is strongly independent. After comprehending the Laws of Fate, he rejects the idea of simply following the original protagonist’s path, declaring that his destiny will be his own. This conviction drives his pursuit of all seven elemental laws and the Four Edicts rather than relying on a four-element soul mutation 53.
Despite his power and occasional arrogance, Lin Feng remains deeply attached to family. He accepts Hogg, Wharton, and Lina as his own relatives despite his transmigrated identity, spoils his children, and repeatedly prioritizes the safety of loved ones over convenience or personal advancement 6 172 423.
He also has a mischievous side. At the Netherworld Hotel, he deliberately provokes patrons and staff for amusement, casually deflecting a challenge with a flicked wine cup 394.
Abilities & Skills
All-Elemental Magic and Law Comprehension
Lin Feng possesses extraordinary affinity for all seven elemental types and spiritual energy approximately one hundred times greater than that of an ordinary child his age. He initially hides this advantage, publicly displaying only super-grade earth and wind affinity alongside high-grade spiritual energy 4 8 9.
- Reached Saint-level magic in all seven elements at age seventeen 57.
- Comprehends and fuses elemental laws at an extraordinary rate, eventually reaching Paragon in earth, fire, water, wind, lightning, Life, and Fate 459.
- His principal combat spells include Earth Guardian Sacred Armor, Gravity Spell, Earth Spikes, Flight Technique, and Dimensional Edge 24 49 128.
- Developed spatial applications of the Wind Laws, including Spatial Stasis, Spatial Overlap, and restraining space 107 373.
- Can cast forbidden spells repeatedly through his immense spiritual power, magical power, Law comprehension, and support from the Coiling Dragon Ring 128 139.
Dragonblood Warrior Arts
As a Dragonblood Warrior, Lin Feng cultivates Battle Qi alongside magic and can enter a dragon transformation that greatly strengthens his body and senses 55 60.
- Uses Gravity Spell during physical training, including under nearly fiftyfold gravity 60.
- Reached the Saint Realm as a warrior and became a dual Saint of magic and martial arts 91.
- His transformed body was later tempered with Lowgod Life divine power to rival a Five-Star Fiend physically 165.
- Can reinforce his dragon scales and body using water-element Sovereign’s Might 291.
- His Azure Dragon bloodline grants the Innate Divine Ability Dragon Roar, which manifests an Azure Dragon phantom and offers insight into the Laws of Time 367.
Swordsmanship and Heavy Weapon Mastery
Lin Feng practices both the flexible Violet Blood Soft Sword and the Black Obsidian Heavy Sword.
- Reached the realm of Lightness in Heaviness, creating the heavy-sword move Ben Lei 74.
- Pursued the higher state of Momentum, drawing upon the power of heaven and earth 57 85.
- Carried the 3,600-jin Black Obsidian Heavy Sword through the Magical Beast Mountain Range to temper his body and understand “lifting the heavy as if it were light” 72.
- Combines swordsmanship with Wind and Spatial Laws, allowing him to contend with peak Saint Realm experts such as Fain 127 128.
Soul Attacks
Lin Feng develops Soul Attacks to compensate for the Earth Laws’ relatively limited soul amplification.
- Created Soul Devour by integrating the Life Law 74.
- Used a soul attack to destroy the Green-Robed Elder’s divine clone before it could disclose a secret 237.
- Fused a portion of the Life and Fate Laws to strengthen his Soul Attack while evading a Seven-Star Fiend 278.
- Recognizes that his earlier Earth Pulse-based soul attack is ineffective against comparably strong opponents with adequate soul defenses 349.
Divine Clones and Fused Clone
Lin Feng creates Divine Clones through separate godhood breakthroughs and can merge a clone with his original body 148.
- Possesses documented Wind, Earth, Life, Fate, Water, Fire, and other elemental bodies 148 165 169 171.
- His Wind Divine Clone became a Highgod after fully comprehending the nine Wind Mysteries 215.
- His Life–Fate fused clone connects to Hongmeng Space and possesses willpower comparable to Sovereigns, along with divine sense capable of entering the Earth Divine Plane undetected 435.
- Unlike the original protagonist’s path, Lin Feng can fuse laws but cannot fuse divine powers 429.
Stone Carving
Doehring Cowart teaches Lin Feng Flat Blade carving, both as an art and as a method of spiritual cultivation 14.
- Founded his own Flat Blade School style under Doehring’s guidance 26.
- Carving increases his spiritual energy at more than ten times the speed of ordinary meditation after mastering the technique 26.
- His sculpture Love, inspired by Dilia, elevated his spiritual power from peak eighth rank to peak ninth rank in ten days 33.
- Became a stone-carving grandmaster; Love was compared to the Ten Great Sculptures by Curator Maia 45.
- Continues carving even at the highest stages of cultivation, describing each stroke as “a polishing of fate” and “a carving of life” 434.
