Zhen Hua's recommendation
"Thanks for coming all this way."
Leng Yaozhu smiled and nodded.
Zhen Hua waved a hand.
"No trouble. I happened to be coming to the East Sea to visit a friend anyway."
"Mm."
They talked a little longer about the Battle Armor, though there wasn't much to discuss. The damage was so minor it didn't even need repairing. Four-Word Battle Armor wasn't that fragile; Leng Yaozhu wouldn't have cared if it hadn't affected its appearance.
After discussing it for a while, they tacitly moved on.
In the living room, Zhen Hua sat on the sofa and glanced around. He said with a sigh, "Before I came, I never would have imagined that you, the dignified Vice Pagoda Master of the Spirit Pagoda, would actually come to a little place like this."
Before his visit, he'd heard that Leng Yaozhu had disappeared from the Spirit Pagoda Headquarters and settled in a remote little town on the East Coast, where she'd bought a house.
He hadn't believed it when he heard. It seemed ridiculous.
For the dignified Vice Pagoda Master of the Spirit Pagoda to give up her position and come to this little place to play house—it made no sense.
But now that he'd come and seen it for himself, he realized things really had turned out beyond his expectations.
Facing his question, Leng Yaozhu sat upright on a sofa nearby. She shook her head with a smile and said, "Sometimes, you have to let go a little so the people below you can grow."
Zhen Hua watched her quietly. He wasn't a fool. When Leng Yaozhu said she was letting go, she didn't mean she'd stopped managing the Spirit Pagoda. She meant she was giving her subordinates opportunities.
Even though she was here, the Spirit Pagoda was still under her control.
But Zhen Hua was curious. What had made the Spirit Pagoda's Vice Pagoda Master come to such a small place and willingly live like an ordinary person?
Before coming, he'd heard rumors that she couldn't bear to leave her son.
Curious, he asked, "By the way, Lord Heavenly Phoenix, I heard your son awakened a Three-Life Martial Soul, including the same Spirit Eyes Martial Soul as the Spirit Pagoda's founding Pagoda Master?"
"Mm. The child has good talent. He did awaken the Spirit Eyes."
Leng Yaozhu didn't hide it. There was no way to keep something like that secret, and there was no need to.
"So it's true! A naturally awakened Three-Life Martial Soul—this must be the first time in the history of the continent."
Seeing her nod, Zhen Hua was filled with emotion. A naturally awakened Three-Life Martial Soul was nothing short of a miracle.
He'd inherited the Heavenly Phoenix Martial Soul and the Qiangu Family's top Martial Soul, along with the exceptionally rare Spirit Eyes. Zhen Hua couldn't even begin to imagine how far he might go in the future.
"Mm, what's that?"
After a moment, something caught Zhen Hua's eye. A picture was stuck to the wall nearby.
That's right—it was the design sketch of the Emperor Armor that Qiangu Wuji had casually drawn.
Looking at it, Zhen Hua couldn't help getting to his feet. He walked closer for a better look.
The longer he studied it, the more tightly his brows furrowed, until they were almost knotted together.
"That's Wuji's drawing," Leng Yaozhu's voice came from behind him. "He's interested in mecha design as a second profession, so he drew that. I thought it looked pretty good, so I put it there."
Zhen Hua turned to look at her, then shook his head with a wry smile. "It's not just pretty good. Your son's design may be outdated, but if you look closely, the basic design logic of this Battle Armor is very sound. Do you know what that proves?"
"It proves that if you design it this way, you really could make a similar suit of Battle Armor."
"Oh?"
Leng Yaozhu couldn't sit still. She got up and joined him by the wall.
"Even you think it's good?"
Because she'd been managing the Spirit Pagoda from an early age, Leng Yaozhu's skills in her second profession weren't particularly outstanding. In this area, at least, she was far inferior to Zhen Hua.
Zhen Hua nodded and pointed to the armor's belt on the sketch. "The most distinctive part is this belt. If I'm not mistaken, your son intends to make it the Battle Armor's activation device, right?"
Zhen Hua wasn't a design expert. He'd guessed because the sketch had plenty of annotations. Though they were hard to make sense of on their own, taken together, they roughly conveyed the idea he'd described.
Leng Yaozhu nodded and said with a wry smile, "Mm. At the time, I thought that method of activation was too outdated, so I criticized him for it."
"Even an outdated suit of Battle Armor isn't entirely without merit," Zhen Hua said, shaking his head. He thought for a moment, then continued, "Sometimes, we need to look at a problem from a different angle."
"A different angle?"
Leng Yaozhu froze. Then, as if she'd suddenly understood, she gave a bitter smile and shook her head. "How foolish of me. You're right; I was thinking about it too simply. From another angle, as you said, Wuji really did come up with something remarkable."
She'd had such high expectations for Qiangu Wuji that the moment she saw the design, she'd thought only of how it didn't suit her son's future status. She hadn't considered what other uses this kind of Battle Armor might have.
Just imagine: if a Battle Armor activated using external energy could be made, wouldn't that lower the threshold for using one?
Could it even become like mechas in the future, so that ordinary people could use it too?
If they really could make it, then there was no doubt that her son, Qiangu Wuji, would be a great contributor to the advancement of civilization!
His name would be remembered for generations!
Leng Yaozhu was thrilled. Only now did she realize what an astonishing feat her son had accomplished without even meaning to.
"It seems Lord Yun Ming was right. You really did give birth to a fine son!" Zhen Hua said, his voice full of emotion, after a long while.
"To have such talent at such a young age... If he received systematic training, who knows what else he might create to amaze us?"
As he spoke, someone came to mind. He asked curiously, "By the way, Lord Heavenly Phoenix, if you don't mind my asking, has your son found a teacher for his second profession? If not, I could recommend someone."
"You could? Do you know an expert in this field, Zhen Hua?"
Leng Yaozhu grew curious.
Zhen Hua nodded, but there was some hesitation in his eyes.
"He's not especially accomplished. He's a friend of mine, but I think he'd be able to guide your son."
Leng Yaozhu nodded gratefully.
"Then I'll thank you on Wuji's behalf. He's been worried that he can't find anyone to teach him."
"Sure. My friend came with me, as it happens. I'll give you his contact information, and your son can go see him."
They talked a little longer. Then Zhen Hua checked the time and waved goodbye.
As Leng Yaozhu watched him leave, she stood in the living room and gazed at the design sketch on the wall for a while. Then she gently peeled it off and carefully tucked it into her Storage Soul Tool.
Something capable of causing a stir in society had to be kept safe. Otherwise, if the wrong person saw it, it could cause quite a bit of trouble.
Satisfied, she smiled. Then she turned her gaze toward Na'er's room.
"Little girl, have you seen enough?"
