Background

Tang Ya is the sole survivor of the fallen Tang Sect. After the Iron Blood Sect attacked the Tang Sect through a night raid enabled by bribed city guards, her parents died and she alone escaped. Carrying the sect's legacy and a desire for vengeance, she sought assistance from Shrek Academy; its elders refused to intervene in what they considered a personal grievance. She then spent two years in Shrek's outer courtyard with little cultivation progress before returning to Tiandou City to recover the Tang Sect's hidden-weapon manuals. 98 104

While attempting to reclaim those manuals, Tang Ya is captured by Xu Lanqing. His possession of the long-lost Poison Classic and Medicine Classic completes the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, restoring a major part of the Tang Sect's lost inheritance. Tang Ya refuses his initial offer to help rebuild her sect because she considers the Sun Moon Empire responsible for the Tang Sect's decline. 99 100

Xu Lanqing exposes Tang Ya's hidden ability to devour life force, forcing her to confront the possibility that she could become an Evil Soul Master. Though horrified by the consequences, she ultimately activates the talent when given a chance to face the Iron Blood Sect. 102 103

Revenge Against the Iron Blood Sect

Xu Lanqing arranges for Tang Ya to challenge Iron Blood Sect members one at a time. Tang Ya uses her Dark Blue Silver Grass to kill and drain opponents, growing stronger throughout the massacre. She kills more than fifty members, including Tie Tang, one of the men tied to the destruction of the Tang Sect. 103 104 105

After taking revenge, Tang Ya is left emotionally hollow and considers dying at the Tang Sect's former site. Xu Lanqing's purification suppresses the violent bloodlust caused by her Evil Martial Soul, and Tang Ya ultimately chooses to live and rebuild the Tang Sect instead. 105
