Skull Island

Ye Ye swam across the seabed and saw the wreckage of ships below. They had probably been caught in a storm, and now lay here forever.

Ye Ye passed through the storm. Just then, a swarm of jellyfish appeared ahead of him. Each one was a whopping fifty meters long. They traveled in groups and were highly poisonous, so no Soul Beasts wanted to mess with them.

Ye Ye: "Scan!"

The island made Ye Ye even more curious.

They were all hot-tempered. When they saw Ye Ye ignoring them, they grew furious and attacked him together.

Ye Ye had already noticed them and was prepared. He unleashed his Dorsal Ray, piercing them all.

Ye Ye swam toward the surface. When he emerged, he was surprised to find the air fresher than anywhere else on Douluo Continent. Powerful life energy filled the place, too, making it an ideal place to cultivate.

Ye Ye looked ahead. A huge island was shrouded in clouds, making it seem even more mysterious.

He swam toward it. The closer he got, the more he sensed the abundance of elemental energy.

Ye Ye reached the island. Its forests were even denser than those of Star Dou Forest, and it had a complete, entirely new ecosystem. He sensed that the island was no ordinary place.

Just then, the system spoke.

[Beep! You have reached a sign-in location. Sign in?]

As expected, it was a sign-in location. Ye Ye had already guessed as much. He'd felt there was something special about this place. "Yes."

Just then, Ye Ye heard roars and the sounds of fighting. He knew it wasn't an ordinary brawl and headed toward the noise. When he reached a clearing, he was astonished to see four monsters over a hundred meters tall fighting. Three looked somewhat like ugly lizards, and the fourth was an ape. Ye Ye sensed a threat from the ape—a deep-seated enmity in their bloodlines.

Ye Ye: "Xiao Ai, scan them."

The three Skullcrawlers and Kong also spotted Ye Ye. They were natural enemies. They had intended to team up to kill their sworn enemy, the last Kong, but now an intruder had arrived. They sensed pressure and danger from him, and at that size he had to be every bit as powerful as Kong. So two Skullcrawlers attacked Ye Ye while the third went to finish off the Kong, who was badly wounded and on the verge of death.

When Ye Ye saw the two Skullcrawlers coming at him, he didn't bother to dodge. He blocked one with his two claws, then spun around and flung it aside. As the other came in, Ye Ye swung his tail into it, then pressed his advantage and stomped down on it. He kept stomping, grinding it into the ground. The Skullcrawler clung to his foot and tried to pry it up, but to no avail.

Meanwhile, the largest Skullcrawler tried to end Kong's life in a single bite. But it had underestimated Kong's strength. Kong summoned every ounce of strength he had, grabbed the Skullcrawler by the neck, and drove it into the mountainside. The whole mountain shook. The Skullcrawler hadn't expected Kong to have any fight left in him and froze for a moment.

Kong then uprooted a towering tree over a hundred meters tall, stripped it down into a club, and started swinging it around.

The Skullcrawler snapped out of its daze, roared at Kong, and charged.

Back with Godzilla, Ye Ye was still grinding the Skullcrawler into the ground. It was already bleeding. (Why does this suddenly feel wrong as I'm writing it?) Its flesh was mangled, but it couldn't budge Godzilla's foot or reach his leg with its jaws. All it could do was let him keep grinding it into the ground. (Skullcrawler: "Quit grinding me. Give me the good stuff—make it quick!")

Just as the Skullcrawler was about to be ground to death, the other one came around. Seeing its beloved companion bleeding and nearly dead, it charged furiously, despite still being a little concussed.

It clambered onto Godzilla's back and bit down on his back. Ye Ye's hide was so thick that the Skullcrawler couldn't pierce it, but the bite still bothered him. Ye Ye was over a hundred meters tall now, but the Skullcrawler was nearly that big too. Having it on his back was no picnic. Ye Ye finally understood how pitiful the little animals he used to crush must have felt. They really were little animals, too—compared with Godzilla now, his former self had been one.

Ye Ye's claws were too short to reach whatever was on his back. He was frustrated that he had such tiny arms. Everyone had a weakness, after all.

All Ye Ye could do was use his Dorsal Ray. When he fired it, the Skullcrawler couldn't dodge in time. Godzilla's Dorsal Ray pierced it, leaving several gaping holes in its body as green blood poured out. (Aren't Skullcrawlers supposed to have green blood?)

But Ye Ye had concentrated most of his energy in his back, so he couldn't press down as hard with his foot anymore. The other Skullcrawler took the opportunity to escape Godzilla's clutches and retreat. No, wait—how could a strong creature run away? It was a tactical withdrawal.

Ye Ye didn't give it the chance. He began charging his Atomic Breath.

Back with Kong, the Skullcrawler charged him. Kong swung his club straight into the Skullcrawler's tiny head. The club shattered, and the Skullcrawler went flying. That showed just how strong Kong was. We can't blame the Skullcrawler for being dim, though. It already had a small head, and getting hit like that only made it dumber.

(Skullcrawler: "Ref, that's a foul! He used a weapon!"

Kong: "Its head hit my club first. I didn't hit its head with the club. Look, my club's broken. It should pay for it."

Skullcrawler: "...Tell your whole family I said hi.")

But Kong was clutching his arm. Before Godzilla arrived, three dishonorable lizards had badly wounded him, and his arm was still bleeding.

The Skullcrawler seized the chance to pounce on Kong again. It pinned him down and opened its huge jaws, trying to bite through his neck. But Kong wasn't a pushover. He forced the Skullcrawler's jaws apart with both arms.

Back with Ye Ye, Godzilla had finished charging. Ye Ye flashed a smile, as if to say, I'll give you a five-hundred-meter head start.

Godzilla unleashed his Atomic Breath. The huge surge of energy kicked up a gale and pulverized every tree in its path. It struck the Skullcrawler in the head, leaving it a headless lizard.

Ye Ye: "Amitabha. Rest in peace."

Dead Skullcrawler: "Thanks a lot."

Ye Ye looked over at Kong, who was still fighting the Skullcrawler. Kong was pinned beneath it, but he didn't panic. He kicked the Skullcrawler in the belly, sending it flying, then pressed the advantage. He grabbed both its jaws and wrenched them apart until they shattered. Then he seized its tongue. The Skullcrawler tried to call for its companions, only to realize Godzilla had killed them all. Shock filled its eyes. At last, it let out a roar, as if to say, "F— your mother!" Kong then tore out its entrails.

After all that, Kong had reached his limit and collapsed...
