"Whew! Thank goodness. They don't seem to be planning to pursue!" The commanding officer sighed in relief as he watched the monitor.
Then his heart tightened again. Now his ship would have to face the two Ghost Knights alone!
"How long until air support arrives?" he asked.
From the start, he had ordered them to call for air support immediately upon engaging the enemy. Judging by the time, it should be arriving soon!
Though the battle so far took a while to recount, only about twenty minutes had passed.
"About ten more minutes!" a subordinate reported.
"All right! Put all personnel on alert and lock every hatch! Prepare according to the emergency plan! Hopefully, we can hold them off for ten minutes!
"Don't worry, everyone. Once our fighters arrive, we'll have a chance of winning!" the commanding officer reassured everyone aboard.
His confidence was not unfounded. After receiving the Izumo's report, Japan had taken the appearance of the two Ghost Knights very seriously and dispatched four F-35A stealth fighters to provide support!
At present, there were only three fifth-generation stealth fighters in service worldwide: America's F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning, and China's own J-20 Mighty Dragon!
The F-35A was part of the F-35 series!
Japan had only just purchased these four F-35As from Daddy America at a wallet-bleeding price. This was also the F-35A's first deployment in the Asia-Pacific region, and the intent to contain the J-20 was obvious!
