After a long while, Professor Fang looked at Ye Min with a kind smile, gesturing toward the "Blue Sky Supermarket" in her hands. "That... Miss Ye, I wonder if you could introduce me to that Miss Xiaoxiao?"
"Of course!" Ye Min clutched the "Blue Sky Supermarket" tighter to her chest.
Damn! I've never held tens of billions of dollars in my life; I'm going to hold onto this for as long as I can!
In truth, even if Professor Fang hadn't asked, Ye Min would have dragged him back to the Chu Group by force if necessary. If this news leaked, the sky would fall, and even the Chu Group would never be able to withstand that kind of pressure.
In the president's office of the Chu Group.
Chu Feng hung up the phone with an expressionless face and looked up at Chu Xiaoxiao, who was watching her with hopeful eyes.
"Mom? Are the test results out?" Chu Xiaoxiao asked, feeling a bit unsure. Now that it had come to this, she felt a bit nervous; after all, the whole thing was too bizarre.
After a long pause, Chu Feng spoke in a low, ethereal voice: "The item is real, and the quality far exceeds our wildest imagination..."
Heaven knows how shocked she was inside at this moment. This single kilogram of nuclear fuel was worth more than her entire Chu Group!
And from a strategic standpoint, its hidden value was simply immeasurable!
"Yay!" Chu Xiaoxiao waved her little fist, then flushed and said excitedly, "Does this mean I can skip class whenever I want, and also... cough cough! I mean, this is actually real? It's just unbelievable!"
Chu Feng looked at her daughter, who was switching expressions like she was putting on a show, and rolled her eyes helplessly.
She straightened her face and immediately connected to the security department's line. "Hello, this is Chu Feng. Have the security department summon all security personnel immediately and head to the yacht pier to protect Captain Ye!"
"Yes, I said all of them! Leave two to watch the front gate, and send everyone else out! Use the highest level of security! Immediately! Right now! If you aren't at the pier within half an hour, you can pack your bags and get out, Chief!"
Clack! Chu Feng hung up the phone and let out a long breath.
"Mom! You're so cool!" Chu Xiaoxiao grinned and gave her a thumbs up.
"You still have the heart to laugh! Do you have any idea what kind of trouble the Chu Group has gotten itself into?" Chu Feng retorted irritably.
"Hehe, our Chu Group has always been more afraid of things being too small than too big! Mom, I already had the group's intelligence department gather the data. Take a look!" Chu Xiaoxiao said, handing her a prepared file.
"Ha! So you were prepared for this all along! You have that much confidence in him?" Chu Feng looked at her with a knowing smile.
Chu Xiaoxiao's face turned slightly red, but she didn't refute it.
Chu Feng looked down at the materials in her hand, growing more alarmed the more she read.
Uranium ore is a sensitive resource that is basically under the absolute control of the state. However, although the Rabbit Country is vast and rich in resources, its proven uranium reserves are very scarce, making it a "uranium-poor country."
According to the intelligence team's analysis, although the country possesses the full set of technology for nuclear power plants and has an overwhelming cost advantage over traditional power facilities, the lack of uranium ore makes long-term, stable promotion of nuclear power impossible. To this day, the country only has a handful of nuclear power projects, and most regional projects cannot even get approval from the State Council.
Therefore, the state has to import high-priced, low-grade uranium ore from Kangaroo Country every year. The extraction and purification costs are extremely high, and they are often held hostage by various diplomatic policies.
Chu Feng only had to imagine it for a moment to understand the significance of this item to the country. If they could introduce a stable supply channel for the state, the Chu Group would undoubtedly leap to become a key star enterprise of the Rabbit Country—a strategic one at that!
Of course, this came with a prerequisite: you had to have the ability to protect such a massive interest, and that was exactly what Chu Feng was worried about.
An innocent man is guilty of his own treasure!
What kind of monster did that guy end up taking in? Chu Feng smiled bitterly to herself.
In the lobby of the Chu Group, a pretty receptionist was touching up her eyebrows in a small vanity mirror.
"Yo, where are you planning on going for a date? You're all dressed up!" a colleague nearby teased.
"Hi, it's that new returnee at the group. He asked me to see a movie tonight. He's asked me several times over the past two days, and I really couldn't turn him down today." She said this, but the spring in her eyes couldn't be hidden.
"Oh, that handsome guy! When did you two hook up? Tell me the truth!"
Before the girl could answer, a burst of rapid footsteps echoed from the elevator entrance.
"Hurry, hurry! Keep up! Whoever drags their feet and causes me to lose my job, I'll deduct a year's worth of your bonuses!"
The voice arrived before the person did. The booming shout startled the girl so much that her eyebrow pencil slipped, and she nearly dropped it.
The two receptionists turned in surprise to look. Dozens of security guards in full gear, led by the security chief, marched past them with a murderous aura. White-collar workers passing through the lobby looked over in astonishment and hurriedly stepped aside.
The group jogged past the front desk, exited the building, filed into three seven-seater SUVs, and roared away.
The two receptionists stared blankly at the scene, then turned to look at each other.
"Pfft!" The colleague burst out laughing when she saw the makeup on the girl opposite her.
The girl picked up her mirror and looked. Well, that was great! Her perfectly shaped willow-leaf eyebrows had been drawn into arched, angry-looking ones. She was instantly miserable!
An hour later, the girl, who had redone her makeup with mysterious speed, looked at herself in the mirror and finally nodded with satisfaction, taking a Givenchy lipstick out of her bag.
"Wow, isn't that the lipstick you spent two months' salary on? You never usually have the heart to use it, you're really going all out today!" her colleague exclaimed.
"Hmph! This is called using full force even when hunting a rabbit! Just wait and see! Tonight, I'm going to make that returnee fall at my feet!" The girl lifted her head proudly.
Then she began to carefully paint her lips in the mirror, the bright red gloss making her look even more radiant.
Bang! The main door was flung open.
"Quick, quick, five-meter perimeter! You guys, go clear the elevator!" It was the same familiar, booming voice, loud enough to make the window glass rattle.
Then, a group of burly security guards swarmed into the building, surrounding two people. They even had blast shields arranged in front, behind, and on the sides!
The two people being escorted in the center were recognizable to some in the lobby; the woman was Captain Ye, the personal bodyguard of Eldest Miss Chu, and the other was an elderly man with graying hair.
Captain Ye held a plastic bag in one arm while her other hand remained pressed against her waist, her eyes scanning the surroundings with constant vigilance.
The old man kept glancing at the item in Captain Ye's arms, his face equally tense.
The group surveyed their surroundings with caution before filing into the elevator, their imposing presence silencing everyone in the lobby.
Only after they had moved away did the crowd begin to whisper among themselves.
"Who is that old man? With this level of security, even national leaders don't get such an exaggerated escort, right?"
"What do you know? Didn't you see the bag Captain Ye was clutching? They're clearly protecting some rare treasure! That old man is probably just an appraiser."
"You know, that's actually possible! I heard a while back that the group discovered a treasure at sea, and that Eldest Miss Chu was kidnapped twice because people were coveting it and trying to force the location out of her!"
"You heard that too? I didn't believe it at first, but looking at this now—hiss! I'm afraid it might actually be true!"
Listening to the surrounding chatter, the colleague at the front desk nudged the pretty girl beside her with her elbow. "Hey, hey, big news! Our group discovered a massive treasure!"
However, after waiting for a long time without a response, she turned her head in confusion, only to see two streams of tears running down the girl's delicate face, ruining the makeup she had just applied.
A bright red line stretched from the corner of her lips to her cheek, creating a jarring, horror-themed look that seemed straight out of a costume party.
"Pfft!" Her colleague burst out laughing on the spot.
