Establishing trade relations with the Twin Stars had been part of the plan all along.
With the war between civilizations having reached this point, Nie Yun had essentially achieved all his short-term strategic objectives!
He certainly was not crazy enough to try to push beyond the Proxima Centauri System in one fell swoop, let alone occupy two or three of their star systems and turn Earth Civilization into a true "interstellar civilization."
Neither its population nor its accumulated strength had prepared Earth Civilization for expansion on the scale of entire star systems.
Never mind that Nie Yun's overall military strength still fell far short of the Twin Stars'. Even if he could defeat them, their territory was vast, far more than Earth Civilization, a fledgling power that had only just entered the interstellar arena, could swallow in one go.
Given the resources Nie Yun currently controlled and Earth's population, the enormous resources of the entire Solar System would be enough to meet Earth Civilization's short-term development needs for at least three years.
Only after focusing on developing the Solar System, solidifying his civilization's foundations, building up its population and reserves, and fully integrating the Solar System into Earth Civilization's true "home system" would Nie Yun have enough momentum for further expansion.
Blind expansion would only leave him with shaky foundations and no staying power. Even if he did occupy a star system or two, Nie Yun lacked the resources to develop them fully, and doing so would instead invite the Twin Stars' wariness and hostility.
Pouring resources into endless warfare would undoubtedly slow Nie Yun's development tremendously.
That was also why Nie Yun had done everything he could to secure "peace" after occupying the wormhole and opening a passage to the outside world.
Trade, meanwhile, could accelerate Earth Civilization's transition
