"I am giving you complete freedom on this mission! I have only one requirement: put your own safety first, and remember not to fight the enemy head-on!
"While keeping yourselves safe, bring back as much intelligence about the enemy's rear as possible and disrupt their supply system as much as you can.
"I promise you here and now that, upon your triumphant return, you and every person under your command will be rewarded according to your achievements!" Gilad delivered his ceremonial remarks beautifully, giving morale a boost.
"Yes, sir!" The two men before Gilad gave solemn military salutes. Behind them stood several senior officers from their respective commands.
After receiving his words of encouragement, the two men led their officers toward their respective flagships.
In the long corridor, the two groups, headed by Beckman and "Alsace," kept distinctly separate formations. Everyone remained silent, making the atmosphere somewhat strange.
Even the most oblivious person could have sensed the intense rivalry between the two fleets on this mission.
The finest young talents of the Sea Race and the Winged Race were undertaking the same daunting mission, and there even seemed to be signs that the two did not get along.
