Inside the Dark God Temple's base.
"Those damned bastards! They didn't leave us so much as a scrap!"
Having just finished ransacking the Dark God Temple's headquarters, Flint and the others looked even grimmer.
Dark Shadow had clearly prepared to evacuate at a moment's notice. Apart from some worthless junk, he had left them nothing.
With their greatest menace, Dark Shadow, escaping and no worthwhile loot to show for it, the pirates all felt that the operation had been an utter failure.
Nie Yun, however, was quite pleased as he surveyed the relatively intact base.
"This is a nice base. I'll take it!"
They were pirates, not burglars. Their quarry might have escaped, but they could still seize his lair.
The Ghost Pirate Gang had grown too quickly to build up much of a foundation. This base was undoubtedly many times better than Nie Yun's current headquarters.
With so many members of the Ryan Race recruited this time, housing prices really would spiral out of control without a large base.
"If Captain Ghost is interested in this place, we certainly have no objections!" Everyone nodded eagerly.
No objections? They were all for it!
Never mind that they had their own bases and little interest in this one-even if they had wanted it, Shattered Star's Top Assassin was still alive. Who would dare take on that hot potato?
Poor Dark Shadow had once owned a fine home and lands, living a life of bliss. Then the Ghost Captain had colluded with the pirates to seize his home and steal his lands.
That hatred... was firmly locked onto its target!
We were only accomplices at most. The real culprit is still living in your house!
With someone drawing all the aggro like that, wouldn't their chances of being assassinated first drop dramatically?
