Ghost Waters.
In the darkness, an enormous shadow protruded halfway above the sea, waves crashing against its silver metal hull and shattering into countless sprays.
This was the unfinished Super Sea Wolf. It had anchored itself firmly to a reef to keep itself steady, and two parallel silver metal rails extended from inside its hull, nearly a hundred meters long and angled toward the sky.
Once its bearing was confirmed, the large nuclear fusion reactor inside the hull began supplying a torrent of electricity!
Bzzzt... A faint hum began rising from the rails.
Whoosh! A streak of light suddenly shot off the rails and vanished into the night sky, tracing a beautiful arc. More streaks followed in rapid succession, disappearing into the distance with fierce howls as they tore through the air!
Anyone looking up at the night sky from the coastal areas surrounding these waters would have witnessed this wondrous spectacle, much like a meteor shower!
This was the Electromagnetic Railgun, one of the weapons Nie Yun had developed over the past two days to carry out his "Reverse Meteor" plan!
It worked on a principle similar to that of an Electromagnetic Weapon, but was a vastly more powerful version!
Aside from stricter requirements for the precision of the rails and a much greater demand for power, there were no other real technical hurdles. Neither of those was a problem for Nie Yun!
Accelerated by an extraordinarily powerful electromagnetic force, each 100-gram conical projectile left the rails at twelve kilometers per second, exceeding the first cosmic velocity. That was fast enough to overcome Earth's gravity and reach low Earth orbit directly.
Since there was no need to worry about dissipating heat from rails made of Mechanical Insects, the railgun fired these Mechanical Insect projectiles continuously at a blistering rate
