| Artifact spirit of the Inheritance Main Hall → independent advanced lifeform | 305 | Over an immense span of time, Baruch shed his original identity as the Main Hall’s artifact spirit, acquired a body, and cultivated to his present level. His exact realm is not disclosed. |
Background / History
Baruch originated as the artifact spirit of the Inheritance Main Hall. He divided his consciousness into numerous incarnations, including the artifact spirit assigned to Branch Hall No. 1081. After becoming an independent lifeform, he retained his duty as guardian of the Inheritance Hall and became the warden of its spacetime secret realm. 305
His unnamed master created the Sacred Inheritance Sculptures to identify qualified successors. The inheritance consists of one main hall and numerous branch halls, but Baruch’s branch had remained dormant for countless years because no one had passed its trial. Chen Daolin became the first inheritor of Branch Hall No. 1081 in that span. 153
When Chen refines the Inheritance Token, Baruch reconnects with the main hall and learns that there are 6,971 inheritors across the Sacred Inheritance Halls. His overwhelming joy reflects the long period he spent waiting for his master’s legacy to continue. 154
Baruch refuses to disclose his master’s name, explaining that the master’s former enemies are extraordinarily dangerous and that Chen is not yet qualified to know it. He does reveal that the master was an ancient, overwhelmingly powerful being whose legacy includes Chongdui Tower, the Divine Forging Secret Codex, and trials intended to produce true successors. 154 155 234
Appearance
Baruch’s usual Branch Hall manifestation is a small, fire-furred ape. His true form is a colossal crimson giant ape whose presence overwhelms Chen Daolin. 153 305
- Fiery red, fluffy fur and ruby-like red eyes. 153
- Six long, pointed ears, with three on each side of his face. 153
- Exceptionally long arms that reach the ground and a long tail. 153
- In his true form, possesses immense golden pupils and a gigantic ape body. 305
- Often perches on Chen Daolin’s head or shoulders in his smaller form. 155 181
Personality
Baruch is deeply invested in the continuation of his master’s inheritance. He becomes visibly emotional when discussing past inheritors, his master’s death, and the former owner of the Astral Realm Armor. 154 234 270
As Chen Daolin’s guide, he is encouraging but blunt. He regularly mocks Chen’s complacency, reminds him of the vastness of the universe, and presses him to pursue greater strength. 159 173 234
He also has a mischievous, informal side: he calls Chen “kid,” teases him about personal matters, drinks wine while observing cultivation, and grows bored when left without anything to do. 177 259 326 383
