A Terrifying Enemy

The enormous black shadow nearly blanketed the entire battlefield. People looked up, but it was so huge that they could not make out what it was. It only felt as though a mountain had suddenly appeared in midair and come crashing down.

Worst of all, the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki were right at the center of the battlefield—directly beneath the colossal object's strike.

As the giant object hit the ground, the entire world briefly lost its sound.

People watched as the ground beneath the shadow shattered inch by inch the instant the two made contact, crumbling into countless rocks and clouds of dust.

As the shockwave from the impact continued to spread, more ground broke apart. More rocks and dust were swept into the air, spreading outward in layer after layer around the point of impact like an immense tsunami.

Then the silent world regained its sound, and the deafening roar seemed ready to rupture everyone's eardrums.

The earth cracked open!

"Run!"

They opened their mouths and screamed, but no one could hear them, because an even greater roar instantly swallowed their voices.

The shattered earth erupted in a tidal wave that covered the entire battlefield. It even flattened every house around it, expanding the battlefield once again.

By the time the battlefield finally settled down, a full minute had passed.

People stared in disbelief at the massive circular crater in the center of the battlefield, more than ten meters deep and over a hundred meters wide, as well as the enormous demon at its center, like a small mountain!

Its entire body was wrapped in masses of flesh, covered in countless eyes and mouths. An overwhelmingly evil aura poured madly from it.

"What kind of monster is that?"

"Is it some kind of summoned beast?"
