Sengoku Stunned for a Whole Year

Sengoku shook his head slightly. He had no fondness for people with poor character. Shiryu, on the other hand, seemed worth keeping a close eye on after graduation.

"I'll continue with the report, Admiral."

Once the two senior officers finished talking, Brannew resumed reading from the file:

"Next is the G4 Branch. All eight trainee recruits passed their monthly evaluations. Rosinante performed the best!"

Zephyr noticed Sengoku quietly scoot forward in his chair, bringing his ears a little closer.

"This recruit took part in five operations this month and defeated approximately 110 pirates, including three captains with bounties above ten million Beli. Their combined bounties totaled roughly fifty million Beli!"

Sengoku stroked his beard, grinning from ear to ear.

Then Zephyr cut in without warning:

"Come on, Sengoku. That's the real reason you came to hear my monthly report, isn't it?"

"Don't talk nonsense!"

Sengoku's face reddened as he glared at Zephyr. "I'm here to keep track of how Marine Headquarters' promising young talent is coming along. There's nothing personal about it!"

Brannew looked utterly lost. He knew nothing of the relationship between Rosinante and Sengoku, and the two senior officers might as well have been speaking in riddles.

"Never mind him. Keep reading!"

Sengoku waved a hand. "What about Noah? If I remember right, he ranked first in the last several evaluations. How's he doing now? Whose record is better, his or Shiryu's?"

"He's next, Admiral..."

Brannew's expression turned a little strange. Sengoku, who had lowered his head to sip his tea, didn't notice. He only heard Brannew continue:

"G2 Branch has twelve trainee recruits, all of whom passed their monthly evaluations. The top performer was Romanov Noah!"
