Background / History

The White Lotus Sect originally operated from the shadows across the Northwest. Under its newly appointed leader, it began openly recruiting bandits and refugees, apparently preparing for rebellion rather than remaining a covert organization. Its influence was already linked to groups such as the Poison Wolf Gang in Blackwater County. 19

Its mainstream cultivation methods require the blood sacrifice of living people, enabling cultivation far faster than orthodox paths. The sect’s practice of harvesting “blood-food” made it a recognized demonic sect and placed it in prolonged conflict with the Heavenly Fire Sect, Azure Cloud Sect, and Beast Taming Sect. 53 114

Before Yao Ye took control, the sect primarily obtained blood-food from western islands and rarely intruded into the territories of the Three Sects. Under her leadership, border conflicts became frequent, escalating into a campaign viewed by Ji Fuyao as a long-planned attempt to force the Three Sects to provide tens of thousands of sacrificial victims annually. 114 115

Secret Realm of True Monarch Taixu Star-Dome

When the secret realm appeared at the border of the Three Prefectures and the desert, Yao Ye challenged the Three Sects’ initial attempt to divide it among themselves. She first demanded forty of the one hundred entry slots, then accepted twenty-five slots per faction while privately planning to sever the other sects’ Foundation Establishment lineages. 76

White Lotus Sect disciples entered the realm early and obstructed the other factions’ progress, including guarding the first-layer altar and attacking competitors for spirit crystals. 82 85 86 They remained a major threat throughout the realm, fielding numerous Foundation Establishment Perfection cultivators and maintaining a numerical advantage at the fourth layer. 91 94

War Against the Three Sects

The sect demanded that the Heavenly Fire Sect hand over Jiang Tian, his treasures, and maids, threatening war if refused. 112 Although Jiang Tian was not the true cause of the conflict, his inheritance served as the sect’s pretext for a broader, long-prepared war of expansion. 114 115

The conflict was divided into Foundation Establishment, Purple Mansion, and Golden Core battlefields. White Lotus Sect forces initially scattered into small hunting groups, erected fortified camps, and deployed Purple Mansion cultivators into the Foundation Establishment battlefield in violation of the established separation. 115 116 123

Jiang Tian infiltrated and destroyed Camp No. 11, annihilating more than one hundred cultivators with the sword strike “Zhu.” He subsequently massacred several additional Foundation Establishment camps through disguise, deception, and direct combat. 117 118 119 120

Final Purple Mansion Battle

After Wang Fugui’s death, the White Lotus Sect used a desperate measure involving a scarlet, soul-destroying object to bolster its remaining forces for a final battle. 138 Despite briefly reversing the Purple Mansion battlefield through forced enhancements and White Lotus Four Transformations, the sect suffered catastrophic losses. 139 142 145

Wu Xiuxiu was defeated by Jiang Tian’s ten-sword attack, causing the surviving White Lotus Sect cultivators to flee as the Three Sects pursued them. 146 Gao Da True Lord then arrived and nearly reversed the situation by massacring Three Sects disciples, until Zhu Tiangang intervened. 147

Aftermath

The sect’s leader experienced a sudden and incomprehensible surge in cultivation, overturning the Golden Core battlefield against the Three Sects. 148 After Zhu Tiangang sacrificed himself and helped seal the Heavenly Fire Sect for ten years, the White Lotus Sect’s leader failed to break the protective formation. 149

A later scarlet lotus manifestation struck the Heavenly Fire Sect’s barrier, staining the surrounding world scarlet, but the sect’s formation remained intact. 150
