Background / History
Tang San is the son of Tang Hao, the Clear Sky Douluo. His connection to Tang Hao makes him a target and repeatedly shapes his standing at Shrek Academy, where Tang Hao forces Flender and Dai Mubai into servitude. The resulting resentment leaves Tang San isolated from several classmates. 19 35
He registers at Shrek Academy alongside Xiao Wu, then returns from the Star Dou Great Forest to reunite with his teacher, Yu Xiaogang. Tang San places immense faith in Yu Xiaogang’s teachings and believes their combined guidance and his own talent will allow him to surpass Wuhun Temple’s Holy Son. 17 34 35
Tang San possesses Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. Following defeats and pressure from Unrivaled Thief’s group, he chooses to attach soul rings to the Clear Sky Hammer despite the risks associated with developing Twin Martial Souls. 42 43 83
Appearance
Tang San is noted for his dark hair; during a confrontation with Dai Mubai, his forehead is exposed when the wind blows aside his stray hair. 38
- Uses the Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul in his right hand. 83
- Uses the black Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul in his left hand. 42 83
- Carries the Twenty-Four Moonlit Bridges at his waist for storing Hidden Weapons. 81
Personality
Tang San is intensely ambitious and confident in his own potential, particularly when encouraged by Yu Xiaogang. He considers himself capable of surpassing the Holy Son of Wuhun Temple and initially dismisses others at Shrek as inferior. 35 42
His confidence often becomes overconfidence. He attributes setbacks to inferior circumstances or Martial Soul suppression, and later suffers humiliation when his Hidden Weapons and individual strength fail against stronger opponents. 39 42 105 174
He is deeply dependent on Yu Xiaogang’s approval and instruction, repeatedly returning to his teacher after defeats and promising to follow his arrangements. 34 46 87
