Chapter 1004: Earthquake and the Eternals
Harry stood on the top floor of Osborn Tower, facing a holographic model of Earth projected by Prometheus.
The model was densely marked with red dots indicating quake origins—not along tectonic plate boundaries, not in volcanic belts, but radiating evenly outward from the direction of Earth's core.
In other words, these were definitely not normal earthquakes.
Earthquakes had epicenters, directions of propagation, and attenuation gradients.
But the waveforms before him were perfectly symmetrical, as if something at the very center of Earth had turned over in its sleep.
"Prometheus, overlay the cosmic energy monitoring data."
A faint purple glow appeared over the surface of the holographic model.
Streams of energy were converging from every direction in space, passing through the atmosphere, crust, and mantle, all pouring into the same point.
The core.
Harry stared at that point for three seconds.
Yet the information passed on by his counterparts from other worlds began surfacing in his mind.
Earth in this world had been chosen four billion years ago.
A Celestial embryo had been planted in the core, using the intelligent life on the entire planet as fuel for incubation.
The greater the population, the more abundant the energy, and the closer the seed came to hatching.
But in the movies, this thing was supposed to awaken several years from now.
Because Thanos had snapped his fingers and wiped out half of Earth's life, delaying the Celestial's revival.
In other words, if this was happening now, it was very likely connected to him.
He had drastically improved this world's medical standards. Cancer, drugs, AIDS, and countless other problems had all been conquered by him.
Over the past few years, the global population had begun to rise as well—
Perhaps it was already nearing the critical threshold
