"Would you be interested in becoming the Sorcerer Supreme?"
Hearing that, Harry's expression turned very strange.
He stared at Ancient One's bald head for two seconds before confirming that this old woman who had lived for centuries was not making some deadpan American joke.
What was this supposed to be?
He was a billionaire capitalist, the man at the helm of the Osborn Group.
Did she want him to go freeze in the Himalayas? Was she sick?
"Are you serious?"
Harry took a deep breath, then said tactfully, "I thought Kamar-Taj's recruitment standards would be a little more... rigorous."
"I don't have much time left."
Ancient One lowered her eyes. "The Dark Dimension's corruption is worsening, and the price of drawing on dark power to prolong my life is nearing its limit.
"Before that, I need someone to take my place."
She raised her head, her gaze settling on Harry. "Ssu-trange still needs time to grow, but Earth needs a protector now."
"Forget being the leader of a bunch of practitioners. I'm not interested in ascetic training."
Harry straightened up. "But if it's just protecting Earth from being eaten by all those random dimensional demon gods, I can lend a hand."
He paused, then laid out his condition. "In exchange, I want to learn about magic."
Ancient One let out a long breath. Her tense shoulders relaxed.
"Deal."
She raised her right hand and drew a circle in the air.
Orange sparks shot through the air, swiftly outlining a spinning portal of light.
On the other side stood snow-covered peaks and an ancient courtyard.
"Please come in, Mr. Osborn. Welcome to Kamar-Taj."
"No need to go through all that. I'll get there myself."
Harry looked at the portal and directly locked onto the space it revealed.
Then—he snapped his
